Wondering what these go for on average, I'm probably going to need about 5-10 of the blood walls and a few of the random blood tiles Also if you know the average prices of the alchy beakers (tall, the one that looks like an upside down pipe) and things like that please list that as well! Summer House Deco Contest '17 is coming, it's time to start getting ready!
I think people aren't pricing some of these rares wisely. Anything like the grave dirt, alchy flasks, blood tiles/walls Those spawn monthly/bimonthly/watever, they are only going to go down in value as eventually there will be a lot of these that have accumulated. I'd hate to buy 3 mil in rare deco to have it be worth 1 mil in 2 years Anyhow, I need to get a lot of stuff!!!!! What are you doing for your theme xegugg? I'm going to enter a small tower and go with a "Dark arts, haunted sorcerer's house" I may create a char for it and add a little backstory and rp element (and make the house public when I'm done) I love stealing, but decoing is my close second UO love
yeah that seems pretty steep for something that's only going down in value *the things we do to look good* sighhhhh
It's worth more than mentioned above (well, depending on the exact type), IMHO. You see any on the market? No. And there is a reason for that: more demand than supply.
The more of something there is the less value, there's already dozens of each type, and they're going to keep being added to the game so when 20-30 turn into 100-200, then they're not going to be worth as much as when you bought them. Ideally purchasing rares will cause them to gain in value over time, not lose it. Now they are rare, later they will merely be uncommon.
As BlackEye says, the thing is not only (a)"how many there are in existance". You also have to take into accouny (b)"how many are desired". For as long as b (demand) > a (supply), the price is bound not to go down. All you need is another Richy McDeepPockets to want 5-10 of each and the price skyrockets. It is no secret the rares business is a monopoly (or oligopoly at best), and by the amount of sales of these items, these people have no problem holding unto them to control the market value. If you want to speculate that b will go down or be satisfied faster than a goes up, then that's your thing, but it's nothing more than speculation and trying to move the market in your favor. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Good luck finding yours though.
I'm not trying to affect the market or cause a stink, it was more of an offhanded thought comment. In my mind they don't seem like a good investment (remember the idea I have for deco needs 10 of these stupid things, so that's 3 mil) I also need the alchy rares (prob going to cost 1 mil +, I have no clue yet) so there you have 4-10 mil in items that continue to spawn at a regular rate which is not subject to flux. Then you have demand, something that may or may not exist to keep them at the value originally paid. So in a couple of years when there's double to triple the amount of the item, they aren't going to hold that value. These are items that become more available and less rare every time one spawns. Anyhow as stated before, not trying to raise a ruckus, I just think they are pretty damn pricey for the reasons stated above. The auction system is a pretty good equalizing factor though imo. They're worth what people are willing to pay for them after all.
ya? What about mine? lol EDIT: Recent auction relevant to Jack's price check. http://uorforum.com/threads/sold-wts-rarebloodwall2-tile.19947/#post-183650
