is anybody having trouble connecting to irc?

    I have been unable to connect via flash irc. The problem started yesterday afternoon and has continued today.

    i went to http://www.chat4all.net/ to get in you have to type in our page #Renaissance, i have talked to darkwing and he is on the problem. which is......


    The past few days, people using our flash chat, have been unable to connect to our IRC servers. This was caused by Adobe suddenly proactively blocking IRC ports 6666 to 6669. Luckily we also have port 7000 available. I have updated the flash policy daemon to use port 7000, and also updated the flash chat to use this port. If you host your own flash chat, then make sure to make it connect to port 7000 as well, or else connections might fail. More info from adobe's forum: Adobe Forum

  13. Yeah I posted this problem in bug reports. Not sure if that was the right thing or not but didn't know how else to get the info out there. Thanks for all the info. Hope it gets fixed soon!

    Aye. I downloaded the program and have had no problems, but I reported this to Darkwing yesterday, after I received three or so reports. It seems to just be people using the web-based version. I'm sure the staff is on it.

    I use LimeChat on my mac mini and have had no problems. What IRC client or browser are you guys using that are seeing the problems? MacOSX, linux or windoze?
