What are the actual odds that dexxers will ever be useful in PvP?

shard pvp is already heavily reliant on GE pots and wands...
I don't want to see anymore movement towards extra equipment when there are still lots of micro changes in other areas that can be made first.

    bow/crossbow swing speed
    potion stackability/cure timer
    low rolling on melee hits

I am not so much saying I want to see all weapons faster...
the swing speed on things like spears, warforks, most axes, etc are just fine to me.
some weapons like the war hammer could be more practical if only a dash of speed was added.
but I was mainly talking about archery weapons when I mentioned that.

what I would like to see is the 1st circle heal spell get slowed a touch.
because a mage with room to move can pretty much refill health completely in a matter of seconds using that spell and it casts so fast they almost don't stop at all.
I have had a lot of mages confess that they feel it is over powered against a meleer.

low rolls like hitting someone with a power katana for 3 dmg.
    things like that.
maybe the big thing could be that if your dexterity is above 80 then you won't get those super low dmg rolls or something.

but I agree with you about there being weapon buffs that won't just roll over to tank mages as well.
stuff that would benefit pure dexxers or at least hybrids that are melee based.

i already did that long ago, tho perhaps just not by enough (by default cures were 100%) - however you can only fail against deadly poison still i think, as i didnt want to make them overpowered by reducing the cure rate by too much

25% chance to fail with greater cures vs deadly poison i believe is what they're set to

25% sure sounds nice but I've seen failures 5-6 time in a row, several times. I mean, I know that's theoretically possible but it shouldn't happen commonly.

The issue with all of this is armor.

That would be absolutely fucking retarded and would 100% cripple warriors. Barbed leather as it is needs to go. There is zero value in magic leather armor, and barbed armor is too much, and about as easy to obtain as picking cotton.

    Whats the fix?

    Less dex loss for metal...
Magic resistance for ring, chain and plate??

This thread is 5 pages long with various long standing and new to the server (me and others) chiming in.

This speaks to the broad realization that there is in fact a problem, things don't happen around here at light speed as of course they shouldn't.

Can we get a word from someone with the power to change to ring in on this? If it's being looked at? Or is this a moot, tired argument?

If so, I'll of course learn to adapt and I'll change the makeup of my chars, buuuuut.... I'd love to have a few different chars to use, sometimes it's nice to go out and battle on a dexxer versus just taking a Mage out, you know?

Make barbed/spined/horned leather equivalent to regular gm leather armor. In return players (mainly mages) are forced to wear regular gm leather suits which a) boosts the effectiveness of dexxers and b) greatly increases the value of magic leather armor. As it stands, people have seemingly endless access to high end armor suits that are, imo, too effective against dexxers (i.e. Barbed suits). This obviously increases the desire/demand for magic leather armor, and thus positively affects a dexxers efficiency. You can leave dragon leather armor in game for the sake of bods, and/or still have the effect of regular gm leather with the hue effects that most people like, while simultaneously boosting the damage output a dexxer has, as well as increasing the demand for magic suits.

Perhaps this would also encourage players to want to actually field their higher end runic weapons instead of leaving then stored in the bank except for their safe even spaces and holiday events.

If dexxers were rocking valorite as commonly as mages wore barbed leathers, it would balance well enough, I believe. Top tier for top tier but as long as using the best weapon costs 500x what a suit of armor costs, that'll never pan out. Unfortunately, at this point, changing all leathers to GM equivalent would ultimately reverse the imbalance in the distant future when valorite runics are actually used in the field.

Oh, okay. We'll just leave it as is then. Doesn't affect me since I main mages. My suggestion would be effective, but there's always going to be contrarian dolts that insist on over complicating things of this nature and therefore nothing ever changes. Lol idgaf. Keep swinging for 4 dmg hits.

And do you really care about a balance shift in the distant future? How long have dexxers been on the shit end of the stick as far as imbalance goes? And you're worried about them finally having the advantage in the distant future? FFS.
