Two things, @TreeHugger: (1) That is a fort, not a keep. No matter how large a village around a keep is, it's still not a fort. (2) That happens to be a very nice fort. And it is coming up for sale. You just have to be willing to pay a prime rate for a prime house. Vandalin was simply pointing out that there are opportunities. They just might not be the opportunities that any given player might be looking for, for any number of reasons, financial or otherwise.
The only house I know of that is selling for 25 million is Punt's fortress which no one has bid on yet, still curious to see who will end up buying it but he's had it up for sale since, June of 2016 maybe? Has there been another fort recently that actuallly sold for 25 mil?
Jesus Christ. Fort, keep, castle, tower+log cabin. The style of house is irrelevant at 25 million. You all fail to see that having housing this unavailable, be it size(vandalin), or location (me) with such a small player base is adversely affecting the new population. Old vets stuck in old ways. I was sent a private message saying this argument is futile as the Idoc crew/ all their buddies are impossible to argue against as ideas that discourage their play style get shot down. Condemning houses is a great idea, until you realize it's the real estate hoarders that are most for it. So they can place their 5-15th houses. Anyways, sorry for hijacking your thread @ShadowJack, I'm out.
If this hasn't even sold yet, and there are no other comparables, it can't really be used as a reference at this point. Where are houses (plural) selling at 25 million? To beat a dead horse, plenty of great houses at low prices currently available.
There are two responses that one might offer: (1) Then don't buy it. This is not particularly helpful, and, quite frankly, uncharitable. But it is no less helpful than simply stating that [you feel] that a price is insane. Incidentally, the housing spike has caught me by surprise as well, as did coming back after two years and finding that plat had doubled in value (I expected to find it at around 7-8k). All of this, however, remains confined to the realm of our own subjective opinions. (2) Okay. I realize that now, having heard you and him both. We are all aware of where we stand, and nobody is likely to convince the other. Repeating ourselves is unlikely to be productive for any of us. Let us progress, then, to the realm of hypothetical points of consensus. Condemned status seems to be one. Can you think of any others?
I don't think I'm directly responsible for the issue coming back to big houses over and over again. Most of the arguments in here have been very cyclical.
Downsizing.... or at the very least USING houses and not leaving them empty. Many vets it seems go from buying up a lot of houses to feeling the burden of too much so they start selling and cutting down.
I also don't think it's helpful to point fingers at players or groups. Because it keeps boiling down to vets = rich = bad, and idocers. Not constructive.
No. The most recent one that went up for sale that was on grass was about 6 or 7 months ago. It was Peace's I believe, and it went for 10 or 11 mil maybe, I'm too lazy to look it up on my phone. Before that, it was Markos' fort north if minoc which went for like 15+ I think maybe 8 months he ago or something. I'm selling mine for 25 mil because that's the least amount I'd take for it simply put. It does amuse me to see this treehugger guy whining about it though.
You could think of it being only 2777 plat if you'd like. Honestly, at the current age of the server, who doesn't have that in the bank?
It's possible, I can't remember that far back. I left at least one though he could have a good hug and cry with It, while sipping on his chai tea in his footie pajamas.
Sold mine in Minoc for 11m about 9 months ago. Timelord sold his w/bridged tower and cool tree in the CY for 15m. Those I would consider comps for grass non-secluded
