I waited patiently all day around the IDOC in Moonglow. Last 2 minutes before the house falls, a team of asshats show up, reveal me, and keep res killing me, and eventually place the house. Awesome fun. People are using counters or something. There is nothing random about the houses falling, obviously. Kinda ruins the fun of it for me, to be completely honest. I must've waited 10 hours today split screen just waiting because I had no idea when it was going to fall. Really turned me off. I have no problem losing to someone who drops it faster than me because I turn my head away from the screen or get up to use the bathroom, but what happened just a few minutes ago was total bullshit. It's just more of the same established players completely dominating the server over newer players. I'm sure I'm going to get a lot of hell for this, but whatever. What a waste of time.
I only saw two people run through the IDOC area ALL DAY and they left after running by my screen immediately. Then at the LAST TWO MINUTES a team of 3-5 people show up and destroy/res kill me over and over. So yes, a randomization would definitely help a lot.
@WoblinTheGoblin I understand your frustration. We have been there. There was an article posted recently about some similar circumstances in the LA times. It's an interesting read worth checking out. I hope this helps ease some of your frustration. http://www.latlmes.com/business/latimes-new-business-venture-1
Yeah, I think I'm done with this. One person offers me a check (not faulting them for being nice, but I didn't want a handout). The people who showed up the last two minutes and res killed me over and over asked me to buy the house from them. Then another person straight up trolls me on the forum. Nice. I have a house NW of Trinsic by the tunnel mine. Be sure to set your timers! I think houses fall in 14 days. It was a fun two weeks. Good luck on the server everyone.
UO is not balanced. UO is not fair. UO is not kind. You either wreck or get wrecked... period. Surviving it IS the game. Play or get played. Chin up and give it another go, I say. Good luck to you either way.
Cool, but fixes to the game happen from time to time. Making it so IDOCs take zero effort is pathetic and ruins it for me.
This was upon his return from his FIRST death. He uttered something similar before his first death while hugging the guard zone, which did happen within the minute of the drop. And also continued uttering similar attempts at insults while repeatedly running back to his death in the likely plan to give counts while the invisible gremlin blocking placement evaporated. There was ONE traditional 'res kill' which after he was promptly resurrected, fully healed, and ran off with more flavored wordings. Wash your mouth with soap. Something fragrant.
Hey come on man, don't give up so easily, as least not before taking some revenge on those dudes. I fully understand your frustration, but you have to understand that you attempted to IDOC solo and faced group competition. I think there are multiple idoc groups at the moment, perhaps you could try to join the competition. If you are just a solo player by nature there are tricks you can learn to IDOC better. For starters, even with a group, idocing without the timers is a recipe for a bad experience. If you have the timer, which any solo player can get, then at least you have options, like hiding and logging out characters at the house with deeds. Also, I would not recommend waiting for the house to fall on a living character. Use a ghost, and you are actually gunna be looking for activity FROM the idoccers to clue you in on when the house is about to fall. As soon as you see a handful of people show up, you know its almost go time.
