I truly believe the random timer would be more FUN for everyone involved, and for that reason, and that reason only I vote yes.
I really don't know, can't vote. I thought about it: If that leads to more attended gameplay and I think it does, then yes.
http://uorforum.com/threads/what-a-waste-of-time.22250/ http://uorforum.com/threads/what-a-waste-of-time-v-2-0.22345/ We talk about " in danger of collapsing " ( houses decay)
Peanut and I vote YAS. *Peanut is a cat and his vote counts because the OP said so. I am not asking my wife because she will vote NO to spite me...
I remember finding my first Idoc. Other side of Brit Passage to the left. I had been playing for maybe a week and didnt understand that looting a blue corpse made you a criminal. Anyway, stumbled upon all this loot from a small house that was obviously from a fallen house. Made several trips on foot while evading an ettin that had it out for me from there to Brit bank feeling like a winner. Further into my looting, found some really nice stuff and just got back to brit bank feeling extra like a baller. Someone died right next to bank but it was a blue body and like i said, didnt understand fully what the consequences were of looting. Before i unloaded everything into my bank, i clicked the corpse, thought, sweet more loot. First time i heard that dreadful sound the guards make when they turn you into a ghost . Anyway, hardly related to the timer part of Idocs but figured id share that.
I'm not 100% sure how they are so precise on their timing, but judging from the occasional recall in-recall out bots I see around the world, I'm taking a wild guess they have characters item id'ing the signs of many properties on the shard that are larger than a small. If they are evaluating the sysmessage of the sign check, then you might have a chance to at least throw the bots off by changing your house name to something like 'this house is in danger of collapsing', or to a name that would create false positives for them.. This only really would be effective if a large number of players changed their house sign names, but I also don't think a large number of players really are that bent out of shape. Changing game mechanics just because one team is really good at what they do would be a terrible idea and something I can't imagine Telamon would even waste his time listening to. This server isn't a democracy, if it upsets you that much, find ways to beat them - or join them, instead of expecting the rules of the game to be changed.
there was a time someone stood outside a greatly saying "in danger of collapsing" to confuse the bots and they were threatened by staff. As far as i know tactics used to disrupt idoc bots are prohibited. Anyways this debate isnt about any one group or player. I assume there are multiple idoc groups or idocing players. Its just a debate about whether random house drops are preferable to the automated/botted system. And typically id say systems that reward active game play are preferable.
This sounds like some ridiculous nonsense. @Chris or any other staff member want to confirm this allegation?
