I hope to place a small stone tower in the next month once I leave Ocllo. Regarding home security, could I place a table wall with a trash barrel right at the door rather than running all the way across? The recommended setup I have seen is something like this: X table O trash barrel - open floor _________ |--------------| |XXXOXXX| |--------------| |---------|-|--| Could I set it up like this, creating a single square or two of standing room right next to the front door? _________ |--------------| |--------------| |--------XOX| |--------X|-|X| I'd prefer to not lose most of the first floor to house security if possible.
You can't place the barrel within 1 tile of a door, this is why ppl set it up like in your first example I believe!

I usually decorate the first floor of the tower and create a table wall on the second floor instead. All locked down containers go behind the wall. You can use a trash barrel if u want in there as well instead of all tables. You can use your secure containers on the first floor or on your doorstep outside. It doesn't matter if someone is roaming your house if they cannot access any of your locked down containers. Just make sure you Detect before you unlock one of your tables or axe your trash barrel.
