    This thread will serve as a simple repository for known issues that the staff is aware of, that have been reviewed and are in the process of being fixed. This will help save the players time in bringing issues to the staff's attention and also help determine if we are not aware of a current problem.

    This post will be updated as players bring issues to our attention, and items will be moved to the second post as they are resolved (patched on the live server).

    Bug Bounty Program: Renaissance currently offers bounties for players who find and report issues to the staff rather than abusing them for personal gain. By assisting the staff with identifying and fixing a problem you may earn a reward that relates to the severity of the problem found and fixed. For simple issues the reward is most commonly a platinum statue in a color of your own choice. For critical bugs (server crash, house looting, economy exploit) the reward can be a custom unique item, or house blessing. All rewards outside of platinum statues will be posted publicly when applicable.

    Automated Events
    - The Tournament and CTF events do not currently clear the event lobby as intended allowing people to idle in these areas longer than they should.
    - The event lobby currently allows players to gain skills while inside of the trammel zone. ​

    Bonded Pets
    - Bonded pets can be resurrected inside a players house that the healer is not friended to. - Thanks Avery
    Note: Pets resurrected inside a house should be bound to the same logic that is applied to player ghosts in a house region. ​

    Camps
    - In Rare situations camps (land / ocean) will register on the incorrect message board resulting in confusion. Thanks Zaphian

    Champion System
    - When a champion spawn is abandoned and reverts to zero progress the spawn linked to the champion platform is not removed.
    - Champions can currently be dragged far from their related platform resulting in confusion and frustration.​

    Duel System
    - The Turtle Bay duel arena is registering as open sea, incorrectly ejecting players when a player is timed out in the arena.
    - In rare situations a spell can still trigger once a duel has completed allowing for some odd flagging situations.
    - In rare situations the poison status can persist after a duel has completed.​

    Easter Event
    - The Ingame gump for the easter egg turn-in incorrectly has the "2016" year listed.
    - The drop rate for the rabbit pelt from carving easter bunnies was abnormally low.
    - Easter Bunnies were spawning on Ocllo island, resulting in armies of orphaned Fluffy V's going on murderous rampages in the new player dungeons. A custom designed Easter bunny will be needed for future use on the island. ​

    General Skill Usage
    - Using a skill then trying to use an axe to chop a trash barrel results in a skill use delay.​

    Factions
    Players are currently able to join a faction before completely developing a character resulting in players being unprepared for the difficulty of having a faction character.​

    Housing / House Placement
    - Placing tower wings over certain static objects that should allow placement does not.
    - Certain road/dirt/flower tiles are incorrectly listed on the blocking tiledata index for house placement.
    - (Notable Locations affected, Horseshoe island keep, Justice Island Tower, Despise Entrance, Rat Valley Keep Spot, etc)
    Note: A tool is being developed to allow players to crowd source and report these issues to the staff in the near future via test center. ​

    Provocation / Discordance
    - Players cannot provoke monsters onto another player or themselves.
    - Receiving an invalid target failure when using the provoke skill still results in a full skill use cooldown.​

    Reward Cloaks & Robes
    - Currently the +2AR cloaks and robes that you can buy via the reward vendor only do not provide the bonus AR to hits on all body locations.​

    Slayers
    - The holliday slayers for Dark Elves and Elves had their labels switch. They work as intended but show the wrong label when single clicked.​

    UOR Website
    - The player vs monster data is not currently updating as often as we would like.
    Note: Currently this data is updated minimally once a week, sometimes more. ​

    Note: It will take me a bit to get all the current, non developmental, issues listed here. Feel free to post any that I have missed that you have reported previous that are not yet fixed.

    Treasure Maps
    - Treasure Maps found during the christmas event instances or halloween night of horrors event can be incorrectly linked to the wrong facet. Thanks One

    Trapped Tinker Boxes are illogically configured to function as unlocked while locked (can still use resources within locked containers, which should never be the case) and traps only spring when the lock is picked. Locks should not be required for traps to function on wooden containers.

    Basically de-Trammel Tinker Trapped boxes.



    Also there seems to be some detail missing under what's a known issue with Automated Events. They are specifically not automated, as was intended from Beta onward. Automation implies a schedule that players can count on reliably and don't have to beg administration to trigger in IRC.

    This is not a bug, or known issue. They are working as they are designed. Whether the design is correct for our era is a topic of discussion that needs to be explored. However they work as designed at the moment (RunUO Default) and would not be classified as a issue. Ergo they function exactly as every other trapped container, on almost every other RunUO based free server. If we re-coded them to be applicable to our era, posted a guide on how they function, and one of those functions did not work properly. It would be applicable to be listed here.

    The events are automated, the schedule is not. World events, running bonus events for players on request and other situations have led to a complex system being needed to automate the schedule of events. Given the other development priorities of the staff we manually initiate the events according to our schedule, when they do not conflict with player activity or other larger events.

    Designed in a way that has triggered countless discussion threads with zero outcome or definitive stance from staff, to carry on with excessively risk-averse mechanics that many many players classify as an issue. If that's staying as default (not designed), that's disappointing.

    Manually activated events are not the Automated events I was given the impression were going to be a staple of the shard over four years ago. This is ultimately the most disappointing of all.

    Player events have never had an issue working themselves around automated events on any shard I've seen. Most specifically because there's a schedule to rely on. I won't bother mucking up your tracking thread with discourse about it beyond this though.


    Good luck in your efforts to squash the list of issues.

    If the staff has made some coded attempt at addressing that item, then the concern is valid. You are requesting a system, that is working as designed, be listed as a problem issue. My point is that nothing has been done, or decided, on that at the moment so it deserves its own thread in the proper sub forum. Leading players to believe it is broken as it is functioning now would be incorrect. It works as designed. If players want to fundamentally change how something works to be applicable for our era, then we can use the era discussion subforum for a specific discussion on that topic.

    In regards to the events, they are automated. From the point I initiate the event everything happens as coded. World alerts are sent out, gates are opened, players are able to sign up for an event, teams are auto balanced, the event takes place, scoring happens, player deaths are handled and scored, a leaderboard is updated, the event completes, rewards are given out, players are teleported to the lobby, Player flags are reset, event results are sent to the website. Like I stated before. The events are automated. The schedule is not. Hundreds of hours have been invested to create the event systems we have now, and at some point we will have the time to spend to develop a customizable event scheduling system that can be managed by the staff using an ingame menu. Our goal with events is to be able to set them on a standard ingame schedule, but it is just as important that events be paused while player events, or other global events are in progress.

    One day everything will work on a schedule with no staff involved, but there is still a ton of work to do to make this happen. Even so we are proud of the level of automation our events have and the work that went into creating/testing them.

    Inappropriate tinker trapping has its own thread. Several of them if I'm not mistaken. Specifically with several pages of players in agreement that the mechanic is not appropriate for the shard's target era. If that is going to be ignored, then I really don't see why any more threads on the topic should be created and/or any more keystrokes be wasted trying to champion a change for the better.

    All of the internal automation of the event(s) does not prevent players from getting discouraged by advertised scheduled events that quite literally do not take place on a schedule with any regularity, at all. While not trying to downplay the hard work that has gone into building the events themselves and their internal functions, the slap in the face to those of us who were told (or even advertised/posted in other websites/talked about in support of the shard) they would be automated on schedules four years ago, leaves a lasting sting. You can talk all you want about what parts are automated and it doesn't change the fact that we can't count on anything but holiday instance events and other such scroll-initiated private parties.

    I get it. It's a PvM shard. I'm just having trouble stomaching the efforts put forth for naught.

    PS: Event gates don't close automatically, which leaves the waiting area open for abuse.

    This was a plus in my book, as we could lure spawn onto them and get the loots. Like having a pet dragon without being a tamer. :) But understood if that's not how you wanted it to work.

    I had no idea it wasn't intentional. As an Ocllo-only resident, I assumed it was like that worldwide. I harvested a LOT thanks to Fluffy V.

    i think this thread has potential to be a great resource relief for the admins (like an exit sign that work 24/7 to help answer the question "where is the exit"). however like an exit sign with graffiti and messages and hello kitty stickers stuck to it, it will become very useless very quick.


    i think this should be a locked post otherwise it will derail fast. we could start a whole separate thread to discuss what needs to be added, but if this doesnt become locked i can see hit heading right on down to the trash talk thread.

    We are not against the mechanic, but it should be based on provocation rather than sheer *fury* by the spawned creature. The secondary issue was the sheer amount of fluffy's that were spawned but not killed when I finally fixed it (there were like 40 on the island).

    It will be back next year, but with a more new player applicable monster design.

    It was updated after the easter event completed. That is a good one to add though, im still in the process of converting this process to its new application away from the test code I wrote years ago.

    Good one, we have been fixing these as we find them, but need a coded solution.

    Also added players being able to join factions before they have a fully developed pvp character.
