I wish IDOCs deleted all items. I wish only one account per IP. I wish NPCs charged more. I wish there wasn't so much platinum in existence. I wish there was a better auction system, so people didn't increase bids on their own items. I wish for Blaise's wishes to come true. I wish the economy wasn't rekt.
I wish people who spouted this off all the time would pony up a single iota of evidence to back up their paranoia. Oh, also In before Chris comes to explain that this is the most stable economy of any UO shard ever, where houses have sold for 70m and sandals for 30m, in the first five years of the shard's life. 3x tamers with bonded dragons has nothing at all to do with that though, I'm sure. Probably unrelated to instanced worry-free farming either.
Sounds like something a guilty person would say :-D I wish I had the patience of a teacher. Maybe someone else can serve you a lesson on exploits and liabilities. Oh yeah other than the auction stuff, I agree with ya. ;-)
Stat loss on all characters that die(even if it's only 5%)... not just reds. Less plat... it is way too easily obtainable. No auctions... just vendors. 1 house per account. 3 characters per account. Provo onto other characters.
If I could change just one thing here, it would be to increase skill gain (except for taming) so that casual players without advanced razor knowledge could make a basic character and get in the game quicker. I would also like it if pure dexxers were more viable (recall without magery for example). And, while I'm wishing... I wish blessed runebooks cost less, like maybe 1 mil instead of 2.5 if you want to keep them expensive? Coming from another Felucca shard where all runebooks are blessed and cheap (like less than 10k) and most people run around with 5-10 of them in their pack and can get pretty much anywhere on the map quickly, I can understand making them somewhat more difficult to obtain but I don't really get the logic of making them end-game items. Somewhere in between the two extremes would be ideal, I think, because blessed runebooks can encourage exploring more of the map and also make PvP more accessible, but people would still get that whole "roughing it" experience and have to work toward the goal. Oh and gardening would be cool!
My wishes: 1. Sink the whole Occlo Island and bring Britain back to life -> shard would probably benefit from this the most 2. No instanced dungeons 3. No gating or recalling into fel dungeons! No gating or recalling within the Lost Lands. 4. Gardening, Glass Blowing, Runic sewing kits, Runic fletcher kits, Carpentry Bods 5. Points 1-4, 6 and 8 from @chumbucket list 6. Tinker Traps! 7. Dexxer boost (especially archery!) 8. No afk skill gain!
I'm all set on the lessons, but thanks. I'm the guy who calls out the shills and actually have one of the only actual busts of a shill bidder on these forums. That's ok if you'd like to assume I'm a dirty hypocrite, you just can't prove what did not happen, so no skin off my back. I can't stand that shit and the position dates back to times when I sold a lot on eBay and had to deal with that shit a lot. I saw the agreement to the other bits and appreciate it. I guess I've just spent too much time here listening to people bitch and moan about what they ASSUME are players bidding up their own auctions when I know for an absolute fact they are not. It's all good, nothing will change but if you have any proof for the pudding, pony it up to staff first and foremost.
ok. ok. ill post Staff required dreams 1. Innkeep/Stable for hired npcs 2. Ability to equip hired npcs with gear (items delete on death) Player base dreams 1. Less complaining if things go awry 2. More exploring of the UO world 3. Moar Salty Dog Tavern stories! 4. Less paranoia, better house security, and more common sense (don't go into a dungeon with your house key on you). 5. more bravery (lessons in courage are provided by @Cero for reasonable price and/or squire services) 6. Moar personal accountability.
I'd like to see some housing changes. I've done some forum history searching, the topic has been beat to death like many of the others. But as a new player THAT is my largest frustration. Side note: the UOR drama I've gotten lost in has been so entertaining. Who needs 50 Shades of Grey, Sales for the Simple Minded, or the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Give me a sleeping toddler, my cell phone and the UOR Forum search function. I've approached Mark Wahlberg, he has some ideas for a mini series.
I think Ocllo should be returned to being just another city. [young] status is nice for people just starting out but spread them out. Spawn them in a city based on their starting template choice (like choosing the Blacksmith template would spawn you in Minoc or something) and allow Advanced templates to choose their spawn city. Let them explore dungeons and the wilds to find places to train up. [young] status is a boon in itself no need for the additional coddling of being on their own island with all they need to GM. I don't think everyone should HAVE to be a complete naturalist, I like using Razor to take some of the repetition out of common tasks but I think people in general should be training skills more active and attended. It's just more interesting that way; you meet more people in dungeons or running around the woods. Player interaction is everything.
