I was thinking instead of uniting factions keep all 4 factions. Place all 4 faction stones in Britain with there bases somewhere inside the city. And fight over the control of Britain. We could have 2 sigils one for west Britain one for east Britain.
This would be an excellent idea. Focus all the faction pvp into one area, make Britain look more active and enticing to new players who usually wonder why its so dead. Storyline wise it would be very fun considering there is no King on the throne right now and no Steward. 4 factions vying for the control of Britain, the seat of government of Britannia!
CAN WE PLEASE DO THIS @Chris We know you're adverse to changes to pvp but the 20 or so of us that actively participate are DYING for some form of change.
Like if we can auto activate CTF, this is a great solution. Make Britain busy again!!! Give PvP a central point of contact. And! If you must because this server is like that, give everyone that participates some kind of shiny item.
Man oh man, you can only PK hunt and PK for so long before you get bored of recalling around. We don't have 2000 people here so why not centralize PvP for those that want to PvP. You'd still be able to log onto your red and go slaughter guys doing bloods and champs but man always having a fight in Brit Would be sick
Many career mmo'ers continue playing because they're addicted to progression... major or micro, just need an activity that leads to some type of goal. At least that's how modern ones are set up. There was a game that I used to play that I was heavily addicted to and loved it almost as much as Ultima, but they did something so unthinkable to their player versus player system that it ultimately lead to their demise. They associated the player versus player gear with a player versus monster progression system. Can you imagine being forced to farm in dungeons in order to progress in PvP? When I think back of all the mmo's I've played PvP on, they all shared the same traits in their general structure. It's something that you could pick up joining on at anytime or take a break from it for a while and do something else. However the key thing is it's always there it's always thriving whether you were a part of it or not. Instanced player versus player. I just don't think that would necessarily be for the best here. We need risk in dungeons. However how many murderers are out there are purely in it for the loot? I mean it's nice to know and every once in a while you get lucky pick up a couple of platinum coins maybe a slayer weapon. I think the solution that you're all looking for is going to be up to you instead of code this time. However I am all for anything that would improve factions. I do believe the system needs help. I don't think that the idea of making Britain faction central takes away from the dangers. I have two faction specific chars, I also have a few PKs which I use in specific situations. I'd just like a place to go where I have a greater chance of finding a fight rather than bank sitting waiting for an orange or recalling around 100x trying to find reds or blues in the wild. Nothing wrong with centralizing a huge part of the "era" that a LOT of people enjoyed.
Naw... I have concerns of "instancing" pvp. Keep it public... keep it open. Overall my point is I think pvp can be better and the solution will come from the players without requiring code.
