PLEASE NOTE: The Yew New Village Community is permanently closed. I have decided to leave this post up for sentimental reasons, but this project has ended for good. Sorry for the inconvenience. Hello UOR Community! Project Sanctuary is proud to present our newest project: Yew New Village [P'S] (Before I get started, I would like to apologize in advance if things seem a little disorganized here at the beginning. I've never done anything like this before, and I'm feeling my way through this. I based this idea on a few others I've seen around the forums.) Project Sanctuary is proud to present the Yew New Village new player housing community. Are you a new player, looking for a safe place to work your skills or store your stuff? We've got the solution for you! The Yew New Village [P'S] is right off of the Yew Guardzone, one screen south of the front doors to the Empath Abbey (the big building with the bank, healer, and inn). This small community is here to provide temporary housing to new players still making their way in the world!! So why did I pick Yew for this project? Well, Yew isn't a bad city to stay in! There's player vendors everywhere allowing you to get used to participating in the local economy. The Empath Abbey has a bank and healer right there. A short run to the southwest will take you to the NPC vendors of the town of Yew, and to the northeast is the Yew Moongate, where you can find even MORE player vendors, plus easy access to other towns. I currently have 4 houses set up for new players. Each house contains a security wall, crafting addons, a secure container, and plenty of storage. All of the houses are identical in layout, so to tell each of them apart, I have colored them differently, as you can see in the image below. Vacancies: 4 The Rules!! (1) Qualifications: You must be past Young status. If you're Young you can't leave Ocllo, so you won't be able to get to the house. If you are Young and need this service, @ReZon offers New Player Housing on Ocllo Island. It is not required that tenants be in Project Sanctuary. This opportunity is open to any new player in the UOR community, however, as this is PS property, PS Initiates will be given first dibs if there is a conflict. Anyone who owns another house will not qualify for one of these houses. (There can be exceptions to this. Please speak to me in private if there is a question of qualification based on current house ownership) (2) Lockdowns: Please do not remove the items locked down in the house when you move in without approval by Kirby. This will be grounds for immediate removal. Beyond that rule, feel free to do some light decoration with the lockdowns remaining. (3) Checking In: I ask that all tenants check in with me at least once a week to show me that you're still active. This doesn't have to be a big deal. Just shoot me a message in IRC or on the forums every so often. The reason for this is, if someone is no longer active, I'd like to have the house available for another new player. (4) Checking Out: Please remember, this is meant to be a TEMPORARY solution. At the moment, we are going with a time limit of 6 weeks in the house. There is an appeals process to allow you up to 3 additional weeks. Many factors will be considered should you choose to appeal, however, all tenants are encouraged to immediately start saving for their own permanent housing. I will be more than happy to help you find a place to put a house once you have the money for a deed. The time limit may seem strict, but is the result of much discussion within PS and is intended to give you motivation to work up to your own place. We do understand that things happen, which is why we have the appeals process. (5) Former Tenant Property: If a tenant moves out and leaves property in the house, it will be gathered up and stored in Project Sanctuary storage for 3 months. After that time, any unclaimed property will become property of the guild and will go into the PS coffers. If you have any further questions, please contact me in IRC...you can always find me in the Project Sanctuary IRC channel, #PS. Check the top of my forum signature to see if I'm on IRC and what name you can find me under.
What a great idea. Well done. Too bad I have my little hovel already or else I would have loved to move in.
OP updated with more information. Please pardon our dust, we're working this idea out as we go along. Thanks for your patience. That being said, the houses are open and ready for people to move in!!!
Guys, I'm a PS member and been living in ReZon's Ocllo housing fry the last few weeks, I feel even though I've been told to stay as long as I Want, honor dictates I should make room for other new players there. Only seems right. If you have something available in sanctuary or yew for me I'd be happy to make the move and of course relinquish it back to guild once I can afford to buy seething on the housing market. Full disclosure, I do own a med patio near cove dungeon but it was technically gifted to me by an RP player and its use if supposed to be for that purpose, so I don't want to fully base all my toons out of there, out of respect for the person that gave me that deed. After 5 weeks of playing I think it's time to not trammel with the new player status stuff. Let me know if anything is available for rent.
One of my tenants has graduated to being a full house owner, which leaves me with one more vacancy. I currently have houses #1 (Red) and #4 (Purple) available. Let me know if any new players need a temporary place to stay.
I am at full vacancy at the moment! Any new players who have graduated from the Young player system and need a place to stay?
