I'd like to nominate animal taming for stealing a week of my time

Theft gone BAD!?! (Please excuse my messy house, the house keeper quit a while back)

Good story here.....
Pork Fried Rice dropped his keep when he left the server
He also gave blessed books with CY runes to BlackEye (Who always told me I kept my doors locked)
Black Eye left and gave the runes to some new player named "Jack of Shadows"

I login today and and this new player is in the middle of stealing my green nets I had for decor in my CY, he then proceeds to taunt me as he knows I can't ban him from my CY. So while he can't see inside because I will ban him the instant he goes on the steps I put a gate trap together on the other side of the door. Hes anxiously waiting for me to open the door so he can try and kill me and gain full access to my house (Sorry bro its super secure!) So I finish the gate trap and gate in my 2 fully trained 100 skill dragons and fully trained mare, open the door and all kill. I thought it might have been too much but seeing as he ignored the signs clearly posted everywhere I thought he deserved what he got. The only bad part was removing the smell burnt carcass from my home.

I had a fun adventure with Labeler. He seemed to want company as he opened a portal to a treasure map location from Skara Brae bank. I'm always down for some fun so I joined his party





I watched as he carefully pulled one mob at a time and slayed the foul monstrosities with his pet dragons.







I moved into position for the treasure he was seeking. Careful not to step on his lockpicker who was nearby the chest hidden



After seeing his magical words of 'Ort Por Ylem', it was go time
I quickly stole the gold and gated home to bank them into my safety deposit box. However, I was not quite satisfied with the 4k gold and hopped back through the gate to see what else remained up for grabs.

While I was browsing, I noticed those dreadful words 'Wis Quas'. I started to back away from the chest. And while he missed his target, I took one step too many and found myself in a vulnerable state. Labeler wasted no time in poisoning me and chasing me down with his dragons. Greed, it appears, ended up getting me killed






Oh well, I hope he had fun. I know I did!

Met a brave warrior named Lord Pepsi in Moonglow with an item I desired:Arachnid doom tambourine



After several minutes of inactivity, I made my move:

Perhaps some warriors get a sense that thief is nearby and immediately face the inevitable. This appeared to be the case below

A mighty tamer named Araziane was easily slaying succubi and balrons in Hythloth with his pet dragons and nightmare.





He gated to a bank to make a deposit, and then promptly returned. Without any items that interested me, I continued watching for something good to turn up.



Then, after getting a bit too comfortable, dropped his pile of gold (about 13k) onto the ground:



Without missing a beat, this thief prowled over and snatched up the pile of gold. Thinking back on it, I should have left 6gp as to reduce the amount of attention this action received. Lesson learned





I think Araziane noticed the pile of gold was gone but didn't bother to pursue me. His dragons were to about 50% health and I think he tended to them. While I may have made a mistake by not recalling right away, I stealthed to a safer location first

After no apparent activity, I made my move and recalled away just as a Daemon was about to smack me up side the head for my thievery.

Found Valient macroing magery in a room at Trinsic bank



Reagents for both Greater Heal and FlameStrike.
Decided to steal all their Garlic (Greater Heal reagent) and see if their macro would prevent casting FlameStrike onto themselves.

It's been a while, my friends. I see that you've kept the good people of UOR on their toes as there are may precautions being taken these days. Challenge accepted.

While I haven't much of a tale to share across my tavern table, I did encounter the brave Saige several days ago in the mean streets of Skara Brae the other day, enjoying the warm afternoon while she finished up some banking.



That short spear looks dangerous! I couldn't in good conscience walk alway knowing how easily she could harm herself with it by accident. And, you know, shiny shiny.



Is it the be-all end-all of heists? Maybe not. But, for a weekday afternoon in the streets of Skara, it'll do nicely.

Ok let me just go for a preemptive post here cause i have a feeling i might show up here real soon.

Today a friend of mine, ported from Occlo to my place, that i friended him to. He used this to train wrestling on his toons. Being a newbie that he is, he doesn't know about detect hidden, or anything else really that would have prevented a skilled thief to get in. When i came online some time later, i DH'd out of habit, found a thief with a disguise kit (so i still don't know who it actually was) and banned him, only to notice he already robbed me for everything i had really.

As you can see from my forum account, i am also reasonably new to the shard and put all my worth into two investments: A Rune Library i bought TODAY off the forum, and a bunch of tmaps i bought over the last few weeks. This was supposed to be my start into making some cash to get settled on the server. the way it is now, i am out 1.4million, am only worth 50k anymore and all not because of my own mistake, which would hurt, but i could accept, but because of a mistake my mate made.

long story short: Whoever the thief is, i am happy to discuss terms regarding the buyback of the rune library and tmaps, to get back on my feet.

Ahh sorry to hear @Shosara . I will tell you that I am not the thief but hopefully you are able to get your goods back in some sort of a trade!

After careful consideration, i am going to go ahead and wave goodbye to my money because i found the way the thief reached out to me way too hilarious not to share. Gold is nothing but pixels, i'll get around to earning some more but this is just too priceless not to share.

But yeah... That was a fair deal man good for you for offering it... From what I could tell though SHosara did offer to remove your name from ban list pending completion of the trade. shame shame heheh

I mean if the deal had been "Buy back everything for x amount of Gold", I would have taken it in a heartbeat. But Keeping 850k worth of rune library, and then only giving back part of the tmaps for an okay price, in exchange for the fact i need to unban him? Sorry but this is not a deal i am going to take. At that point it was only a question of mitigating the financial damage of losing out on the tmaps, since he took the rune library out of the equation (for now) so while he might have stood on the best ground to negotiate a hefty amount of money for giving me all back, now he has to sit on it all. Good for him if he needs a rune lib, and if he does tmaps. But the fact he started negotiations in the first place tells me he was actually interested in making money out of it. Oh well. I put this behind me and start anew, no keep by august then, September is the new target ;-D

I have two more accounts that have not been banned from the house, and for anyone else who may be interested in investigating Shosara's home security you can easily find him by following the coastline from the Shrine of Honor a short distance East until you find the two story villa on the water.

He still has several hundred t-maps and unless he's forbidding his friend (who he previously blamed for poor security) from entering his home, there is a new player who frequents that place that has not developed good security habits, so this could be easy fun for everyone.

His own habits are lacking as well. Though he originally placed the blame on his friend and absolved himself of the responsibility, he must not realize I entered his home twice. The first was when his friend opened a gate from Occlo, the second time when I was waiting out front when he himself entered and allowed me entry.
