Hello everyone, I hope that this is an appropriate question for this forum, but it seemed to make the most sense to put it here.

Goal: Login to my home desktop (running UO) from my work computer and execute BOD gathering or sheering or just generally check my macros.

Question: Can I use Microsoft's remote desktop to accomplish this goal? If not, then what program could I use (preferably for free) to allow me to do this.

Other information: I could probably get my work IT guys to install a program onto my work login profile if I asked them to install it. (I would need admin approval to install anything onto my work computer.)

Thank you for any assistance that you may be able to provide.

Awesome. I just did. Do I just need to install the software of my home computer, and then I can access my home computer through a browser from my work computer? Or would I need to install the software on my work computer too?

Its been a long time since I've used it. However, I'm 99% positive that you can install it on the home PC and then access via your logmein account on a web browser from work.

You do need to install a plug-in (or something similar) on the "guest" computer. But you do access through your browser

At my most addicted, I have used an app called TeamViewer that lets your remote in from your phone. It's of course very clunky to control a computer from your phone, but if all you're doing is executing macros or checking progress, it can get the job done.

You can also use Teamviewer from the remote computer.
    Also checkout Chrome remote desktop.

I've used TeamViewer for work and play several times and it's smooth, functional and free for personal use to a limited amount of systems.

You can use the built in Remote Desktop Connection, however, configuring the proper security and firewall settings to make it work is not even remotely close to how easy something like TeamViewer is. Logmein is another good one and you could always go old school and VNC it, but that's gonna take a port forward on the firewall as well unless it's been updated (haven't used VNC in an age).

I've actually done remote macro configurations for guildmates over TeamViewer once or twice, as well as a few general 'wtf is wrong with this' support sessions for friends.

I have since switched to TeamViewer since LogMein abruptly discontinued their free service. it works well enough. It prevents me from playing Battlefield4 and I get some strange Chinese characters on my UO windows when it is running but aside from that it serves its purpose and is free. If anyone else is using something better, Id like to hear about it. I liked Logmein but Im not paying $50/yr for only 2 computers.
