IRC Roleplay Channel

Can i make a request that all members of the roleplay community try and be in this channel whenever they are on IRC?

This is going to make it much easier to communicate and get impromptu or planned events going. Even those who aren't in irc much, it will go a long way to building the rp community if you can just keep it up in the background. Just type /join #uor-rp.

We do have a pinned post about this, the 2nd pinned, but the backside with pinned stuff, is that they easy gets ignored - well if I know myself right that is.

That's a great reminder, Brekken. I know I don't end up spending much time in IRC unless I need to petition the collective brain of the UOR community. A lot of times the conversations turn to drivel reminiscent of WOW commons... Fine for some, just not my cup of tea.

I'll make sure to jump in the RP channel though. It's been good to coordinate adventuring thus far!

I don't use IRC much if at all but with this channel I'll jump on a little bit more so I can make sure no humans (this means you cero) are dirtying up Bloodrock Territory.

Okay. So. New here. Recently. Been having the worst nagging attacks for UO. Old veteran, dating way back to the 90's. I'm fed up with mainstream MMO's and I keep hearing wonderful things about UORen. IMO, it was The Golden Age of MMO's...anyway, brief pointless history aside. I'm ready to make the plunge into the madness again. But I need to know. Is Role Play a big part of UO Ren's population? That extra layer of immersion is a huge must for me as a player.

To directly answer that specific question - no. RP is not a big part of this server's population, it is a minority, but the people within this community are great.

The RP Community here is the best. But us Orcs are the bestest.

While i think Genuss is probably correct, the role play is better than I remember it in the 90's, despite the massive population on Sonoma where I played. The few who RP here really take the sand box and shape it more than I've ever experienced before. Although few, the experience is excellent. Even better, those who don't RP seem to respect that for the most part. I always picture them rolling their eyes and stepping back, looking for other action instead of mowing through the some times unprepared RPers.

Everyone here I've met are excellent in their own way.

Except the orcs. Orcs suck.

There are a few. Maybe you can be one of the early users of Paddy's pub in Occlo, set up for just this purpose.

Rumor has it that Jasnah has been helping out with the cooking at the emerald. Although, she's generally so caught up in her work to chat...

There's a runebook with locations and i think contact names in the Emerald on the bar. I'm still working on the regular book that will have a guild directory in it to go along with that. If you log into #UOR-RP in irc I'm sure you can meet up with someone from the variuos RP guilds and join
