SO I downloaded the file, and now my UOAM freezes and crashes when I try to use it with that option selected. Did I do something wrong or is it because it's such a large file?
I never experienced long freezes or crashes, but my UOAM does slow down a bit, though I use a 10 year old laptop so slow by modern standards. You can try this smaller map for the Skara area only to see if it helps for you. The world map has some ~13k oaks tagged, this one only ~1.1k from the Skara region. Update: We discussed this in IRC, and it seems the cause of the freezes was due to logging in additional characters. Reportedly things work better with single client UOAM.
Thank you for helping me with this. Yes, it works better with single client, as opposed to auto-switch. The freeze happens when I switch characters. It's not that UOAM is frozen. It's that with so many points loaded, when UOAM then tries to locate another character across the map, UOAM starts "thinking" and trigger-happy Windows thinks it's locked up, so it tries to force-close it. Single client UOAM fixes this issue, since it's only tracking one character.
Nice work! I was starting to (slowly) map this out myself before I stumbled upon this thread. The site where this is hosted appears to be down at the moment. Does anyone have a copy of this uploaded somewhere? I'd be very grateful.
...and here i was thinking I was something special for making a target relative location macro for chopping trees... *bends the knee*
Just a reminder to the community that this is a thing. I know there are a lot of new players who haven't heard of this before and it deserves a bump now and then!
Is this still a "thing" ?? Does it still show Oak trees ?? I cant seem to get it to work, anyone else tried with any luck ??
Not sure on the UOAM portion, but you can definitely load oak tree mapping into CUO's world map by renaming the UOROakMap.csvx file to a .csv file in ClassicUO->Data->Client folder
When i click on the link windows wants to open with wordpad. I know i change it but not sure what to open it with. Computer noob here
If you have discord might be better to talk this through on there. Long story short, you have to download the file in the link into your UOAM directory, rename the .txt extension to.map (you right click the file, hit rename and replace .txt with .map) and then follow the rest of the instructions in the post.
I tried this but when I open map it stops showing all labels completely like town names, treasure chest etc. I downloaded the UOR oak Map.Txt. I renamed it UOR Oak Map.csv and moved it to Data Client Folder. Didn't work so I removed the spaces to UOROakMap.csv Still didn't work. Any ideas?
