Archery - Chance to hit - Adjusted the chance to hit in archery combat situations to use a better formula factoring in range/recent movement and player skills. - Greatly reduced the accuracy penalty when moving recently while firing a bow. It will vary between a 5% - 20% penalty to chance to hit depending on the range to the target. Note: These changes should be considered exploratory while we run a variety of tests to find a happy balance factoring in range to the onHit success chance. Further small refinements to the formula will be made based on player experience, testing and feedback. Technical Note: Archery on UO Renaissance determines chance to hit differently than other combat skills. Normal combat has a roughly 50% maximum chance to hit when the attacker and defenders skills are equal. The chance to hit with a bow, when not standing next to someone, is based on the range to the target, whether or not you have moved recently, and the attacker and defenders skills. - Testing: Players can enable debug testing information for these changes on the Dev/Live servers by opening their player profile and enabling the debug option. This will send 2 lines of information per archery attack indicating chance to hit, range, recent movement, attacker and defender skills factors. Range: Range to the target Moved: Indicates if you have moved recently resulting in an accuracy penalty Def: Target Player/Monsters Defense Value CtH: Chance to Hit Atk: Your Attack Value Note: Keep in mind all players have a bonus chance to hit vs monsters. Archery - Arrows and bolts will now properly stack when training archery. - If a shot is missed and there is an arrow or bolt nearby the dropped arrow/bolt will attempt to add to the nearby stack. - This will only work if the stack of items is movable and not already holding 60000. - This will also stop arrows being dropped in a 3x3 area around a target. So if you want arrows to stack in a specific spot when training archery simply leave a single unlocked arrow within 1 tile of your training target. Arrows will stack there automatically. Note: Additional work still needs to be done to stop arrows from stacking in inaccessible places in certain houses. (You are welcome to page the staff to clean that up) Character Transfers Players may now move a character between accounts using our updated character transfer system. This requires copper earned from the copper system and staff assistance. You can move a character between any account that you own, or in the case of multi player households, any family account. Christmas Events - Updated the scroll gump to show proper information for the new White Witch and Krampus Scrolls - Fixed a few problems with the new monsters having positive notoriety. - Removed Poison Immunity from the Frost/Flame Warriors that still had it - Fixed a problem causing White Witch and Krampus lair completions to not report properly to world alerts and the achievement system. Copper System / Player Rewards - Starting in this patch players will be able to redeem copper earned from external sources (donations, guide creation, advertising) on the following services. - Game Account Recovery - 20k Copper (This is a voluntary but appreciated fee to account for the staff time involved in these) - Name Change - 5k Copper (an alternative to spending 100k ingame) - Forum Name Change - 10k - Single Character Transfer Between Accounts - 25k Copper Note: Transfers are only available between accounts that you have access to and are owned by you. (390 stones for tinkering) - Disabled the crafting menu from being sent again if you meet either of these criteria while crafting. Note: This will address situations where players craft lockpicks, oil cloths, etc without having the razor option for stack at feet enabled. Resulting in a stack of thousands of items that can cause performance issues for nearby players. Note: A check was put in place long ago for this but we discovered it did not stop you from crafting once you started. Fix It Vendor - Added a vendor in the event lobby that will assist players with fixing a few items/bugs that have slipped through the cracks. - Players can use the "Shazam" command to switch any Dark Elf Slayer to and Elf Slayer and vice versa. Note: This is due to the labeling on the weapons being fixed which might leave players with a weapon type they did not intend to buy. - Players can drop a Flaming weapon or Frozen weapon on the vendor to exchange it for a Krampus or Ice Witch scroll. Note : These weapons are hued Vanquishing slayers that dropped from the Flame Knight and Frost Knight only. Note: This is to address an elevated drop rate for these weapons in the krampus scroll (10% vs 1% intended) - Players can drop 2016 Halloween bags, or 2017 Valentines Bags to have them corrected to 2017/2018 respectively. - There is no limit to using this vendor but these services will only be available for a few weeks. Misc - Converted all stone controlled events to use the central linking system for control stones. (AMIB's, Taming Event, etc) (test) - Disabled the ability to delete/remove various critical control stones. - Fixed a problem where the changes to the harrower score gump did not properly allow it to be reviewed for up to 15 minutes after the harrower dies. Public Moongates - Enabled the ability to use the public moongates when carrying a faction sigil. Note: The restriction is only intended for trammel which we do not have. - Updated the town listing to have larger selection icons for easier travel. - Left the map using smaller icons however as it looks nicer. Name Change Deeds - Added a small informative gump when double clicking name change deeds. - This will help players understand when name changes are free and that a staff member is required to change the name. - To maintain our hybrid system and community quality the staff will continue to audit and approve name changes on a case by case basis. Nightmare Spawns - Expanded the spawn area of Nightmares slightly to ensure that players have to actively search for the spawns to find them. - This will make the spawn process less vulnerable to camping and require some active involvement by players. - This change only affects the Cyclopean Warrior Spawn Location, and the Oasis Location. - The other nightmare spawns have a sizable spawn area and remain unchanged. Occlo Spawns - Removed the bull spawn from the cotton area south east of the bank. - This spot was starting to be abused by players looking to macro taming. - Increased the spawn of bulls to the island in general to balance the change. Note: Any attempt to automate taming while in the new player program will be addressed. Please keep that in mind. Note: Macros that name pets upon taming them are using non-allowed 3rd party applications. Attempting to do this will make you easy to find and address for abuse of non allowed programs. Unattended taming, while not in the new player program, is however fine. Slayers - Resolved a minor problem where the Elf and Dark Elf slayer names were switched when single clicking on a weapon. - A timed NPC will be added allowing players to switch their slayers to either the Elf or Dark Elf slayer if you were unaware of this bug and purchased or looted one of these slayers. The effectiveness of the weapons before the patch will not be altered unless you use this npc. Taming Quest -Fixed a problem where tamable, but not tamed, animals were included in the event cleanup process. Implemented an event clock for the taming event to be placed inside the event and at other various locations. Please increase 400 stones to 425+ stones. The items needed for creating a large ship requires 400+ stones (nails, 250 oak, 200 ingots, 1000 cloth, deed) therefore it will be impossible to access menu to make them with a 400 stone cap. Is this ready on test? I was able to access crafting menu on test with over 400 stones so I'm assuming no/not yet. Once it's ready, I'll help test it out. Thanks
I agree. Whenever I craft a large ship I have to practically empty my backpack in order to hold all the mats. I guess its ok if you are home but if for some reason you have to craft a large ship outside your house, the 400 stone limit could be a problem. I think 425 is more reasonable. Just sayin...
I'll update it to 425 just in case. Just need to catch it at the point that items are crafted and fall to the ground. Since you could be at 420, craft, item falls to the ground, craft again, etc.
Please just make cloth pants wearable beneath armor leggings -- bone leggings, at least! :x Think of the outfits!
I second this, my plate legs chafe very badly. It would also be very nice to wear a leather skirt over leather/chain legs. And if Wizards could cast with staves. And if I could name my swords/weapons.
