Last time I saw mining macro get big... the price dropped from 12gp to 10gp for iron.
And a month later Telamon changed the system message to not work for "no metal"
    But now its 8gp each
I think the number of people working smithy is low, and tinkering is low, and people doing BoDs has lowered.
So I think if 20+ people try to macro mine, and try to sell at the same time, it will effect the price.
If everyone holds out for a little bit before going sell crazy, it probably wont.

8ea is the price if you buy from a NPC (with guild discount I believe). Most people who sell iron on the trade forum will typically be at 8.5ea. Vendors with iron stocked are usually at 9ea. Of course exceptions can be found.

Congratulations on your first "free bump" post without mentioning the other macro. I knew you could do it.

I'll be doing 1hr speed runs with the new PMM this weekend, so will get those results up when completed. Will look into recording the whole thing too for verification.

    Cheers all

I use to sell Iron ingots at 5 gp each I had 3 macro miners and could mine a ton of ore up in a day. This of course was before the changes to mining.

Today's Observations and updated non tinker recommendation

Non Tinker Version ** instead of crafting macro, Macro withdraws gold, recalls to tinker shops, buys shovels using buy agent, returns to bank and organizes shovels into the silver bag **

Got all 3 macro sets running
Found out I dropped mining on one toon, now raising it by smelting alone
T2A books have less populated use... fewer competing miners
Non Tinker miners need to buy or have other toon make a bunch of shovels each pass through the spots

Remember when colored ingots were 15-20g each?

New speed update is in final testing and prep. Did some stress tests today and it flew, was very happy with results and stability seems almost on par.

Macro is a LOT faster and should be good for 10%+ over current PMM in town minimum and up to 30% for out of town spots.

Will be getting speed upgrade out tomorrow or day after and will include a few side things (auto-recall if damage taken, improved empty spot system etc). I’ll also put in basic instructions and templates for adding your own ore veins out of town. These will be PM’ed to each PMM customer directly as normal.

V1.1 I’m hammering through which should be later this week. This will have detailed custom ore vein instructions, lots of UOAM stuff, tonnes of random bits and pieces. Speed upgrade includes a good amount of what was going in here, this will just polish it and put robust doco behind it.

V1.2 (probably 10-14 days out) I’m going to add in LanDarr’s idea for a non-tinker version that’ll borrow some PRB code so you can choose if you want to make or buy shovels - all auto. Few other things will go in here too plus some additional help for custom ore vein stuff.

Either way, speed upgrade in next 48 hours for the PMM, so customers stay tuned :)

    UPDATE

After a week of running this set off and on, I would like to offer a couple of observations

    1. ITS BORING watching macro miners run, you get easily distracted or fall asleep at the keys which leads to #2
    2. AFK will GET you, I am hearing in IRC about folks getting caught, or in jail and seeing other folks yell out the "guards" command
    3. I have seen others out running it, more than 3 people on a route and production drops way off due to competition
    4. For me, its a NON prime time activity, I run it when I am also catching up on forum and IRC conversations
    5. I haven't calculated exact costs, but it feels profitable as long as you can run the routes without interruption.

What are you losing in reg cost? I might have missed that but didn't see it anywhere

There have been a few PK's and trolls who will try to kill you and steal your runebook. One successfully killed a miner and took the book. But @Patek hooked me up with a brand new one and another macro to drop in the file to accommodate the new book. People are trying to block the recall spots and pull shit onto you, but its UO. I think he needs to say guards more often, especially when something is targeting you. But this is an excellent macro and have made over double my money back so far.

I am using all 3 bots at all times of the day not just during non-prime. My bots are always running

I have been jailed almost 3x per account as Landarr mentioned above. I have literally fallen asleep at my desk watching these guys work and they all get sent to jail. Just keep yourself busy and ALWAYS turn it off if you get up from your desk!

Each recall cast cost 10g in regs at Mage Guild discount. If you are paying more then its costing you more. 56 spots in a set = 560g x 2(to and from a spot) so 1120g in regs per run through.

Shovels are 12g each (vendor cost) and 50 strikes per shovel 32 strikes per location x 56 locations gives you 1600 strikes, divide that by 50 and you will use 32 shovels per run through or 384g.

So back of the napkin costs per run through are 1504g in supplies.

Your gross profit per run through is entirely dependent on the amount and types of ore you pull in, your after smelt yield and current ingot pricing, vendor costs if you put them there etc...

@FreeHugger I think Pirul's macro is probably more boring...
