"Looking into the crystal ball, thou doth see swirling mists in which words form. Ask and be answered." I remember back in the day when you could loot a crystal ball from liches (not sure if there were others) and always thought it was such a cool random item drop, and it was especially cool to have for decorating your house. Can't remember exactly, but I believe these were just a regular crystal ball that you couldn't interact with, but there was a special event or reward ball that spoke the line above. I'd very much like to see something like that here, something other than the pet summoning ball that we have available to us (not complaining!) It would be a neat idea to use this item as a holiday reward, maybe something along the lines of snow globes from back in the day. Or even something different, something UOR specific would be amazing. That would be my number one choice as far as further utilizing the crystal ball item on our shard. Or even keep it simple and incorporate the magic 8 crystal ball as a special drop item. Nerding out here, but it's a neat item; nice light source, they're animated, and can be scripted. Too cool! Thanks for reading!
Takes me back to waking up and logging in during the holidays to find our prize tickets, and then going through the whole trading process at West Brit Bank, finding a nice spot to spam what you'd like to trade. Never took long to find an interested party, or so it seemed. Good times, indeed. Pretty awesome how much UOR recaptures those old feels!
Over the years there have been several discussions regarding crystal balls. I believe staff worked on adding them in some format. In fact, you might take a look at WBB on test. I recall seeing something there at one point. If anything the basic lich ball with standard swirl message would be nice to have for deco purposes initially. Halloween is coming soon @Chris (hint hint hopes)
Good stuff! I've talked to another player about this and he mentioned the same thing, so this is more good news. Hell yeah, Halloween would be the perfect time. Thanks for sharing!
