Bump Edit: I'm wrong as per usual. Check out Canis's oak map: http://uorforum.com/threads/a-study-on-oak-uoam-oak-map.15091/ Please keep replies to bids only. I spoke with canis on irc and he cleared things up. If @RMarc69 @bwillb or @BlackEye wish to retract now that this is the case, Please state so.
I'm sorry you thought my comment about "I didn't want to derail your seller's bonus, but sounds like you may have missed this:" and linking to the study was somehow not-friendly. That was not my intention, but rage is the new black these days, so suit yourself. Oh by the way, the map has nothing to do with trees that say 'oak' when clicked. It's about trees that produce oak when chopped... unless patches have changed oak spawns since the map was released.
Being Canis's co-conspirator on the oak map, I can confirm that his oak map does NOT in fact mark trees which are of art type oak (because that would indeed be pointless), but all of any type of trees over the entire map that will produce oak when chopped. If you use his map and walk up to a tree that is marked on his map it WILL be capable of producing oak. Saying "This is FALSE" is disrespectful to Canis and also to me to a lesser extent, for all the work that he and I put into discovering and calculating this information and making it available to everyone free of charge. Furthermore, Canis PM'd this information to you politely, in order to avoid your embarrassment and then you go and make a, frankly rude, post claiming his information is false. Making it public and twisting his words and intention is churlish in my opinion. Good luck with your sale.
Just checked out that map and while I don't know how accurate the whole thing is, it's clear that it does not mark a specific art style. In fact not a single marker I've checked was an "oak" sprite.
Oak art style trees dont produce wood, or? Which is kind of ridiculous... I believe Baler recognized his mistake meanwhile.
