All my homes went Idoc and fell. Was a day late on remembering mentally. It's been fun. Good luck and Goodbye forever.
Most people care waaaaaay too much about pretend sprites. With that said, clearly you weren’t playing so it’s a good thing those houses became available for players who actually play this shard.
take a brake and come back when you feel better... but this time with less possessions... this is the secret to play freely and enjoy more the game.
I didn't really know you, but the few interactions we had made me think you were a decent guy. It sucks that your houses fell, but certainly you have enough in banks/stables to still have fun here. Just sleep on it a bit. Lots of well-known players have had their houses fall... Anyway here is my advice to others: - Refresh 2x per week. Once per week is asking for trouble. - Keep your most valuable (especially stackable) non-blessed items in your bank. - Set up a refresh partner. I have a macro to refresh 2 other players' houses, plus mine. I do it 2x per week, and it is just 1 button, a few regs and I can watch re-runs of Star Trek TNG on the 2-3 min it takes to do it.
Doesn’t the actual owner of the house and only the owner of the house HAVE TO refresh the house eventually?
Nope, there is no "condemned status" on the shard. It has been suggested that this should be implemented so that players that have quit (and are never coming back) cannot have their stuff refreshed forever.
Are you 100% on this? I’m pretty sure I read something contrary to what you’re saying. I’ll go reread the housing thread, but I was pretty sure the original owner has to update it at some
That’s possible and more than likely true, but that actually kind of weirds me out because there’s no fucking way I went longer than two weeks on my large brick that disappeared. I assume there’s no way to check when I logged in or out of accounts on my end?
You could probably PM Chris in IRC. As far as I know, he has that kind of data. But honestly man, if you lost a house, time probably flew and it's almost certain that it dropped. You get busy with life, and it's easy to do.
Probably. I just know I went a full summer w/o a computer and had my RL friend update my house until I got around to getting a new computer. I bought a new rig and took back control. There was one time I logged in and expected everything to be gone and was shocked to still find it there. The time I logged on to find everything gone and a new house in its place was 100% not more than 20 weeks since I logged in last. I'm certainly not gonna bug Chris about it. Hes busy enough. I lost a bunch of anniversary stuff and a few rares but its not the end of the world.
Ouch. Some take a break to mourn the loss then return anew. Best of luck. UOR will be here when the longing returns.
