Im curious as too some of the more unique builds out there that see usage in the field. This can be pvp, pvm, or just a build you felt worth sharing. We all know the standard stun mage (with healing or inscription), the resist eval tamer, provo dexxer, mage bard, stealth theif etc etc. Sometimes it seems like those are the only options, but i know ive seen some pretty unique builds out there. My favorite unique build i field is a double stun mage, so 7x GM, Magery, Meditation, Resist, Eval, Fencing, Wrestling, Anatomy. This lets you switch to your spear for harrassing damage, or if a stun fails, switch to spear and still potentially get a parlyzing blow while your spells are precasted. You can also pull off the elusive and semi- pointless double stun Let us know what you got!
@scuba If you can, post your build, im interetsed in seeing it. Ive seen it done a couple different ways. I know @merlin8666's had an interesting specced 8 skill stun punch tamer mage
Probably same build I had. It was 100 taming and lore and then sub 100 magery, meditation, eval, anatomy, wrestling and resists. But it was too similar to a stun mage so I went the classic fencer tamer build with healing which is a very fun template to play. I usually take this build to pking for shits and giggles.
I'll post when I get home but I think it was 100 magery 100 eval 100 taming 80 med 80 resist 80 anatomy 80 animal lore 80 wrestling
I cant talk much on the subject of pvp builds, but these are my top 5 unique pvm builds: Keza - Macer/tamer, pure damage, destroys bosses. Keza Ward - Parry/dexxer/lockpicker, fights dungeon monsters while looting lvl4 chests. Keza Axer - Ossytank/axer, plows through instances ironman style! Keza Proto - Swords/mage/tamer, very flexable build with very odd tames. Keza Clef - Fencer/bard (fire bard), uses firehorn to damage bosses during ironman runs.
Most of my builds are standard, but I think I've tailored my recall miner/lumberjack fairly well. 100 anatomy 100 healing 100 lumberjacking 70.1 magery 39.9 meditation 100 mining 100 swords 91.9 tactics He's mostly used as a resource gatherer now but still has most of the combat skills needed to play a fighter / melee character.
Hope it doesn't cause a change in the npc mechanics but anyway you asked: Got 2 funny Pure Dexxer templates for you. Disarm Stun Macer Wrestling Arms Lore Mace Fighting Tactics Anatomy Healing Hiding (or Resist depending on preference) I don't expect to fight high level casting mobs with this obviously but hear this. You can disarm goons (Pirates, Brigands, Executioners, Event mobs etc.) with weapons with this and wrestle with them. It's hilarious. If you want you can bash mace to finish them off. Also will help on scroll events if you act as support (archers wont shoot when disarmed etc.) Trolling Disarm Stun Nox Warrior Wrestling Arms Lore Tactics Anatomy Healing Poisoning Swords or Fencing This one also trolls with poison against casters, Would work nice with a cross healing dexxer.
My modern “team” pvp pet negotiator: Music Peace Discord Magery Meditation Eval Resist Because pet pvp is here and it tastes like lame
My explorer, shopper, IDOCer, rescuer & general errand runner - Healing Hiding Magery MagicResist Wrestling Meditation Stealth His objective is a simple one - don't die. He manages it fairly well. I spend far more time on him than I'd anticipated when he was first created.
Mine flexible char: Gm swords Gm parrying(maybe changing for archery or gm poisoning) Gm tatics Gm Anatomy Gm healing Gm resist 65 magery 35 poisoning. Mine instance build: Gm mace Gm tatics 90 anatomy 93 healing Gm Music Gm Provo Gm Discordance 17 magery Mine group support char(building): gm wrestling(i will just need to test how it works without anatomy and tactics) Gm magery Gm medit Gm eval Gm resist Gm Music Gm peace
my <weirdest> is dexx/bard/mage mace tactic anatomy magery med music peace works well and its fun, but not best dps, of course. (im working on a similar one with Archery Tactic Anatomy Magery Med Music Enticement/Discord its meant to be a support character for bosses and something fun to toy with ) (i use 88/76/61)
Used this on OSI and a few of the other free shards. Was for an RP-PK guild GUL. Spear da'Magi [Enforcer, GUL] 60 Str (80 hp) 80 Dex 85 Int GM Fencing GM Tactics GM Healing GM Anatomy GM Magery GM Meditation GM Eval Int 80hp and 0 Resist was always dicey, but that's what made it fun for me. Learned very early how to rely on all the things available to me: pots, bandies, magic, etc, et al. Though, a lucky RNG Explo / FS could literally put you out. Was a super aggressive build, and effective. A +20 short / spear with precast explo made for a lot of fun when a parablow went off. I was also commonly found to use DP Vanq Daggers, because why not. I don't know how efficient the build would be here with people all using stun mages, explo pots, and lightning wands.... or worse, pk tamers... but I really enjoyed it during this period on OSI / other shards.
90 Vet 80 Lore GM Magery GM Mining GM ItemID GM Hiding 80 Stealth 50 Med 100s / 100i / 25d He's my naked, looter, rezzer, emergency healer, recall miner, ID tag-along boy.
I have a Vet Bard that makes any monster my own. I also have a unique PK build that has been going around.
Always like the MC Hammer build. Music, Peace, Macing, Tactics, Anatomy, Healing, Resist (and a few points out of tactics and healing put towards magery to facilitate recall). STOP! Hammer time!
Not sure how different this build is but I'm using him a lot more for utility purposes than I thought I would - just wish I had raised tracking earlier for this event. Created him initially for solo level 4 tmaps (too lazy to gm lockpicking). GM Magery Music Provo Hiding 95 Lockpicking 85 Meditation 60 Cartography, Tracking (yes that's enough for level 4 tmaps)
