Hail! With Halloween just around the corner... It seems there has been some discussion and concerns about C*D and K*P merking everyone during the halloween event. Just to clear a few things up, we are NOT out to ruin any ones gaming experience. We apologize if you have been caught in some of the crossfire. That being said, we would like to welcome any new or solo players to roll with MiD during some of the Halloween event. It can be kinda lonely playing solo at times and if you would like to hunt with us please reach out to any member. As another way to help newer and solo players we would invite you to wear a hue 43 robe or dress if you do not wish to be involved in PK targeting We hope this will help put peoples minds at ease and provide enjoyment for the entire shard. **It should be noted, there are certain groups who will be exempt from this. We feel pretty confident you know who you are. **
Arr! The ripper tried this “bend the knee” tactic. Look where that’s got em. 6 feet under matey! You won’t find any pirates wearing these pumpkin spice latte robes you scallywags!
Anyone looking to group up to combat the C*D/K*P/MiD zerg can contact me. Let's give them a Halloween they don't forget!
This isn't a "bend the knee" campaign, It's a way for new characters to find a group to enjoy the event with. It is also a way for people who don't PvP to not be bothered by OUR pk's during this time
Knights of Stormhold are returning for Halloween as well. Check out their recruitment thread here; http://uorforum.com/threads/knights-of-stormhold-s-will-return-for-halloween.44840/#post-414739
I think a bigger emphasis should be on the offer for newer (or veterans as well of course) players to feel free to reach out for a group to play with. MiD have a lot of players that are heavily pvm oriented, and really darn good at it. This event is way too fun to be pking the entire time anyway, so many of us will be playing blue characters most of the time really. We have a large group that knows the instance really well (dominated last years event), and the more the merrier. There are some really cool rare drops, and it helps to have a good group of people to play with, to improve your chances of getting a cool drop (kill more mobs with less threat of being overrun by them). The robe thing is handy if you just aren't interested in the pvp aspect, and would rather just play the event. If we happen to have reds running around, we won't bother anybody wearing that robe. So again, to anybody that doesnt have a group to run around with, please feel free to PM anybody in MiD, we are happy to have you come along and have some fun with the event. It doesn't matter how much experience you have, or whether you know how it works. We are just happy to run around with you and have a good time. Our guest channel in discord is open to anybody, we will send you an invite. We will often use a general voice channel as well, so you can get in on conversation as well if you are more comfortable with that.
There will be fun for everyone, the point reward system could be implemented so the independent warriors will not need to be grouping with team X or Y to have some chance of being rewared for his efford with hcs, rares or items. My advise to the youngers: you will die a lot anyway.. dont get buthurt, farm some cheap silver weapons in this days, chose cys close to guardzones.. and make a macro to leave the instance! You can also wear orange, as the topic suggest, but is a terrible collor to wear and maybe will not be suficient to keep you alive.
In the interest of Halloween safety, be sure to bind this to a hotkey before enjoying the Halloween festivities: Assistant.Macros.SpeechAction|0|52|3|ENU|0|[noh Assistant.Macros.WaitForGumpAction|3189712460|False|1 Assistant.Macros.GumpResponseAction|10|0|0 Assistant.Macros.PauseAction|00:00:00.2000000 Assistant.Macros.GumpResponseAction|10|0|0 Instant escape, cannot be interrupted or dispelled. Enjoy!
It has been brought to my attention, A group of PS members WEARING Hue 43 Robes were attacked and murdered at Cove Graveyard last night by a large group of K*P PKs. This group was comprised of some of our kindest and most generous members... true philanthropists. It pains me to hear the news this morning, you have have in fact RUINED their gaming experience and they will not be participating in the rest of NoH. This is most certainly posted with personal anger, however; not with the intention of promoting additional hatred. This is a WARNING to all those donning HUE 43: You are not safe from this groups cruelty, instability, or boredom.
Anything can happen in a matter of two seconds when a gate pops open and a large group of red toons come firing through it. That was mainly the case of what was happening that Trif is talking about here. We did have a member of our group wearing these colors, and as I understand it to be, the fight or flight actions happened all at once and said member in colors was attacked. I'm not 100% certain he fell. I know for sure that myself, not wearing colors, dropped like a sack of potatoes, but that was to be expected. I was very quickly rezzed and all my gear was left on my body. No foul there. Thanks doods. Now, to address the matter at hand. I have two problems (personally) with the situation, but I expect nothing to be done about it really because it's all in the laws of the game. 1) wearing colors to be "safe" is so odd that it reminds me of Nazi Germany. We all know how that worked out and it ain't even nice to talk about, so I'll stop talking about it. 2) any player can be killed by any other player at any given time. that's totally fine. sucks when it happens to you, and can be a minor inconvenience that you have to re-equip all your gear if it wasn't taken, or a major inconvenience if your gear IS stolen. oh well. The fact that in an event like Halloween, the players aiming to experience the PVM aspect of the game aren't even geared up to fight non-undead monsters and probably only have silver weapons on them. So they're definitely not capable of fighting another player that is 100% equipped to kill non-undead players/monsters. This is where I have the problem. The shooting fish in a barrel situation. It's not a challenge AT ALL to gate between the few active graveyards and completely wiping out characters that are not able to defend themselves. As I said, I don't expect anything to change. And I guess I just don't understand the PK mentality. I don't consider PKs to be dominate by any means if they're simply killing defenseless characters. At this point it's just a griefing session. This basically means that we will either continue to try and play as is and probably get wiped out enough that we stop playing, or we just won't play at all. Both are the same results; we don't get to enjoy the event. I'm not sure there's a solution here, but I just wanted to bring to light my view of the situation.
Provide screenshots please. I was present during the PKs that took place, and I have the option ticked to capture screenshot on death. Not a single player PKd is wearing an orange robe. I literally just checked every single image. In fact, in some pics, you can see peeps in orange robes farming away. I can provide evidence of that. There was an individual inside the instance that attacked us while he was wearing the robe. Yes, he got killed. That was his initiation, not ours. As was discussed this morning in the UOR general discord, this reaction is absolutely ridiculous. If you don't believe that PKs should PK, UO is not the game for you. You are playing on a Felucca shard, do you realize that? And then to come in here calling people "cruel" and "unstable"? What is your motivation to try to spin this into some kind of smear campaign? I can't help but notice, you are also a PwN member. That makes 2 members of PwN that have gotten very bitter towards our guild in relation to Felucca happening in a Felucca server. Could that perhaps have something to do with your bias towards our guild, stemming from the fights that have been going on between our guild and yours (I know I know, PwN and iderp aren't the same..... only an 80 percent overlap, and you only fight at idocs helping iderp because friends help friends. But yeah totally no relation). We Pkd for a very short period of time. Lol. If getting Pkd during that small window that we were online ruins your entire game, I don't even know what to say to you. I hope you aren't spreading this toxic attitude to the new players you claim to be helping. You are not helping them at all. You are setting them up with false expectations of what the game of UO is. You could instead be helping them understand that this is part of this crazy game world, and be giving them tips and ideas on how to avoid it or how to fight back. PS: there are other reds out there that couldn't give 2 craps what color your robe is. They might still kill you. Are you even sure that this was our group? Oooooo man, and they didn't even offer an option to opt out of that. THEY must be REALLY evil.
So to you, a group that openly said "hey guys, we are gonna be PKing. You can opt out of the pvp aspect of this by wearing a robe with a certain color, so that we know you dont want to be involved in fights" is akin to Nazi Germany?? How the heck else would you communicate that to us? I think wearing a certain color robe is a really great idea. We run up on peeps, all we have to do is look and see the robe, and say ok, dont attack this person. And that's similiar to nazi Germany in your world? You said yourself, you weren't even looted. This is ridiculous.
How am I going to provide pics? I heard the news this morning during a PS chat. Also, I asked those involved to confirm they were in fact wearing Hue 43(twice actually) before posting. I apologize for the confusion; considering I previously vouched for your guild adhering to the Hue 43 rule set in place during the conversation this morning...
I definitely agree it's ridiculous. I was simply providing my first-person input of the situation. Others that were involved were not pleased whatsoever and voiced their opinions in the General Discord channel as it was happening/after it happened. At least one of your guild members said, even though you all say "this color will keep you safe from us" that they could just decide to not abide by that rule if they don't want to. That's totally fine to me as well. I have nothing wrong with your ideals to PK. Please, go right ahead. My heart used to jump a few beats when reds appeared on my screen. It's a part of the game. I just wanted to voice my own opinion that wiping out players that have no defense against you and who are only focused on killing event mobs is just dumb and is no challenge to you. If that's what you like to do, then go ahead. I just don't respect any of you for it, which is fine too. You don't need my respect. Anyway, do what you must. Have a good time. It's only a game. See you boys around.
