Welcome to the UO:Renaissance chess league! Signups are open now, and the pairings for the 1st round will be assigned after 1-2 weeks. You will have 1 week to finish your game with your partner and report the outcome back to me. After the previous round is over, a new one will start. Signups anytime in between rounds. I will keep track of everyone's score and evaluate each players performance by using an elo system. After the season is over, the winners will be crowned! Rewards for the winners are not final yet, and i am looking for donors. Winners 1st season: 350k Gold, Pegasus Statue 250k Gold, Burst Statue 100k Gold, Surfer Statue other participants: Surfer Statue for Participating How to setup a game (official format, requires no signup) Move to the chess server www.lichess.org and click the option "play with a friend" You will be given an invite link that you have to share with your partner in order to create the game. This method requires no futher signup and matches can be re-visited to a later date incase of any doubts! Please include the same link when you report the outcome of the match to me! Alternatively matches can be played ingame by using the chess boards available! For questions about the game or event, feel free to ask me anything. Additional info: I am willing to hold classes for players new to chess to teach them some basics and fundamentals! Message me if interested. Signup Rules: - You will signup for the next round! - I will include participatns in the followup rounds! - If you cannot participate in followup rounds, let me know in advance! - Make sure your partner will be able to contact you to arrange a date to play the game (discord name, beeing available on the forums, etc) Event Rules: - You will have 1 week time to finish your game. - Report the outcome of the match to me before the start of the next round! - Games of top rated players at the end of the season will need to be played on lichess. This is in order to prevent cheating! - If your opponent is not available, and youre not able to setup a game, it will count as a win! - Should there be a timezone difference, or any other reason why youre not able to setup a game with your opponent, i will enter it as a draw! - If i signed you up for the next round, and youre unable to participate (and not noticing me), you will be suspended for the next round.
Count me in. Is it going to be long or short game sessions, and with any increment? Hopefully, the headcount will grow larger in time.
Format will be longer games. Participants are free to pick between time and bonus from 15 to 45 minute games with a time bonus they fancy. Default for me is 30 minutes plus 30 seconds per turn as an example.
