Hi lovely people of renaissance. I'm considering myself as a veteran uo player, at least i was one. Returned to playing uo again after veeery long time and this is my first experience on renaissance era and it's mechanics. So far so good. I'm trying to create a adventurer stereotype (like Indiana Jones, Jack Sparrow or any other iconic adventurer). Sometimes you need to play it smart and use your knowledge (magery, cartography) and sometimes you need to play it cool and cunning (stealing, hiding). I think you get the idea. Here are my skills in the screenshot but as you can see there is one more skill i can choose from. I can just stick with the meditation, fishing or choose something more useful for the template. My general idea is hunting treasure maps, stealing things for fun and handle the treasure guards with energy vortex or etc.. What do you think people?
Maybe it's the beauty of it. I've been playing it the pure "x" or "y" way since the first day and focus only one aspect of the game because of the character's lack of diversity. This char is already a master thief. Adventuring skills are just a plus in my opinion. Meditation noted by the way. Thank you for your kind reply
You can ID a while chest or bag of items at one time at GM ID. Saves lots of time finding that Vanq weapons or item.
I would have to second meditation myself....especially if you are planning to use summons to clear out chest spawn. Remember the higher level chests spawn magic creatures that will rapidly dispel your summons so you may be casting a lot. You can hunt a good bit with summoned demons and such though so it will be quite versatile build.
Meditation imo. gives you the biggest overall utility bonus. More recalling around to scout stuff, or open gates. Also more heals, cures and escape tools when beeing chased.
I can already manage to supply myself with summons. I'm inclined to pick meditation. Thank you very much
Drop carto, you won't be able to solo lvl3+ maps. Unless you team up with others and do the carto for them. And iirc you can decypher lvl2 maps without carto or at least with minimal skills. If you plan to interact with players, get magic resistance and perhaps tracking. Meditation helps if you gate a lot. You could go for lvl4 chests in dungeons and thus have to gate often. In case you want to be a brutal bad ass pirate too, and your ping is low enough and you like challenges, you could add swordmanship too and run around with GM poisoned katanas stealing people's regs and potions for curing poison.
Sounds like a fun character to play. With your template you will struggle with the tmaps beyond 3 however this template would be great for dungeon chests and opening tmaps. As long as you use more than 1 account together. Tmaps pay well as do the dungeon chests. Might be worth dropping snooping unless you are planning to steal from players and if you are planning to steal from others I'd recommend leaving out the treasure hunting stuff and get more survival skills Welcome to UOR.
I don't get it, you have 7 skills at 100. How can you have 1 skill left to pick? Is cap 800? I thought it was 700.
