As I saw no limitation to the amount of houses you can add per category, I hereby add my functional Treasure Hunter training house for the small house competition. Well set up for Lockpicking grind (30, 50, 70 and 100 box), 16x training speed on detect hidden and obviously a dex gainer for those ready to pump up their stats. It's a work in progress, but I can introduce the current setup at least!

With that said, if anyone needs to work on Lockpick/Detect Hidden in a fast pace, feel free to contact me and I'll grant you acces. Forum PM or Discord (Flibble #1228) me! The poor bloke in the blue is a current visitor working on his LP. Tabby, spreading the love since June 2020.

    Best Decorated Small House Entry:

Ice Kingdom Shinies & Supplies Cove-

    20200722_154636.jpg
First Level is for vendoring, I share the space with my lady so the theme is a mix of Blue/White/Pink, with a male and female vendor of such colors.
One of my favorite attributes is that the house placement allowed pink flowers to show through the floor and they look good on the rug!
On the front steps are a pair of Whispering Roses signature by Star and Crazy Horse, with some 7th anniversary bags as a marker of her first UOR Anniversary, often you can find pitchers of wine in these bags for free!

    20200722_154707.jpg
^Second Floor is designed for showcasing rares and if i continue gathering memories of players who left such as the "Long Live UOR! By Gideon Jura" book it can/will be a memorial to such players who give back to the community.

Includes a Vial of Tears and Gideon Jura's Book, and a fire trap for those who attempt to gain access to my third and final level! (I didn't want to fill it with random rares so it looks cleaner and I can dedicate space to other such memorial items)

    20200722_154744.jpg
^Third and Final Level is designed for showcasing player run event trophies/statuettes, my personal achievement trophies/statuettes and I often sit a peacemaking character upon the roof to provide a melody of peace for passerby adventurers and customers.

With such a close proximity with the Cove Moongate and The Drunken Stag event tavern I have been quite satisfied with my attempt to enliven the area with my decorative touch and look forward to continuing.

In all this building is an accumulation of my Lady and my goals met and victories past, Thank You!

Best Decorated Small House Entry: Thieves Retreat
Located just outside of town is a small cabin, a cozy retreat for a dirty rotten scoundrel.

    Outside 1.jpg

After a long day of lock popping, dungeon delving, and thiefy hijinks, this little home
always has a way to heal a tired rogue. No matter what shady adventures they’ve
    managed to get themselves into.

    Inside Wide.jpg

Sit back and enjoy the finest discount wines, or maybe a bit of gambling?
    Drinking.jpg

Want to keep those lock picks warm and in practice?
    LockPicks.jpg

Or perhaps a refresher of some key skills?
    Book 1.jpg

No matter how you spend time relaxing, this bespoke and simple home is all one
needs to rest and plot out the next big heist. Just be mindful of the rug and leave
those shit kickers on the door step. - Snorko

    Large House entry.

Welcome to my Woodland Retreat! Nestled in a glade between Trinsic and Skara, with the mysterious hedge maze to the North.

    Outside.JPG

The first floor is a space were I often share a cheeky ale or two with my companions after a tough day adventuring. Behind, the armoury - ensuring I am ready for whatever Sosaria has to through at me. Moving towards the stairs we pass the reading corner (currently researching the dreaded pirate tamers!) and a small experimental alchemy area.

    1st.JPG

The 2nd floor is the heart of the home - providing an income and keeping all my warrior companions equipped for the field!

    2nd.JPG

The 3rd floor contains the library and study space - where I plot and plan my next solo escapade! And finally, the softly lit rear room to relax round the fire with a bedroom behind.

    3rd.JPG

Blessed with the wonderful Sosarian climate, its al'fresco dining nightly! With my well stocked kitchen supplemented by bbq-ing whatever game was felled in the surrounding woods. On the eastern wing, a monument to my solo exploits, with the spoils guarded by my tame, ferocious (albeit small) Fluffy. On the western wing, a garden viewpoint looking off over the treetops towards the town of Skara.

    4th.JPG

A quiet reflective space to contemplate all the killing.....

    4th b.JPG

    Thank you for looking!

    Most Unique Design Element:

Have you always hated the protruding chimney from a Hearth of the Home? Do the unsightly stones make your blood boil? I have the solution - make a BBQ!

    Small House Entry

Adjacent to my Woodland Retreat, I have The Annex. As you enter, you are greeted by the crackling sounds of the resident fire elemental. A warm welcome for friends, a fiery welcome for enemies....

    annex 1.JPG

The Annex is my gateway to Sosaria via the rune library and my loot sorting house. I caught inspiration for the rune library from a tower a short ride to the NE, where @lawn elder is believed to reside.

    annex 2.JPG

The Annex also provides accommodation for any travelling companions after a hard days adventuring.

    annex 2nd.JPG

And the roof is the fire elemental's domain, littered with the bones of intruders, and elvish and pirate captives thrown from the tower next door.

    roof sst.JPG

    Cheers!

    Unique Design element:
As we all know one of the most annoying thing when decorating any house here in UOR is that the fireplace/oven has to be placed on the top floor, having plenty of time to ponder this conundrum over the past months since Christmas, Father Christmas came up with his own solution, May I present for judging a completely unique element my fire place and Chimney from the ground floor of my villa to the roof.

i have also posted the individual floor pictures to show How it was made

Did we always allow people to enter multiple times with multiple buildings in each category? Or is this something new.

Feel like it's pretty dominating for wealthier players to hop in a jump into every category, and/or run multiple houses with their riches and ultimately take away from the other players trying to enter. Should be one category per contestant if you ask me.

Not trying to single anyone out at all but just seems a bit unfair to the community imo. You're taking the "opportunity" out of a "contest" where everyone is supposed to feel welcomed.

Pick a category, give it your good work, and hope for the best.

I can go run 30 themes myself if i wanted to, but it should not be about wealth it should be about your ability to participate against others in your class of house. Not all of them. Certainly makes me not want to participate personally.

I've tend to over the years do one entry, and I changed the theme or deco each year as well. I know with recent events things suck due to Mongbat. Do enter. I've scoped out some of the deco you had, and was looking forward to seeing that garden you were creating, I believe it was your Fort I saw it on. So I assume the rest is just as good you can do with items you have.

@Onions Aye, yeah the fort was 3 years in the making with virtually no "open space" or clutter. I've never entered other than my first keep with the arena across the whole roof/space of house. Unfortunately I've sold my entire complex to raise money to reimburse my friend for the loss of his animated flask. So, I might do a SST, but @Snorko legit killed the small housing category imo so.. maybe 2021 will be it for me.

I'm still firm on my opinion of entries. Pick a category, enter a home, and allow other people who dont own one of each house to have an opportunity.

If someone enters 5 houses in a big house category, when there's only 5 other contestants.. How is that remotely fair that they're increasing the odds.

But enough of opinions this thread is for photos and i'm looking forward to seeing peoples designs this year. Happy overall that members are taking their time to put it together and keep this fun event alive in the grand scheme of things.

    "La ofrenda"

Once a year, in this house, there is a celebration. Contrary to other cults of faith, they come from beyond to bring their offerings in honor of the living.

Here is my entry for best decorated large house:
I want to start off by thanking my friends @Ragnar Lothbrok, @Shipwreck , and @Labeler for making this possible.

    We'll start with the outside.
    upload_2020-8-9_1-20-50.png

In the entrance we have a nice fireplace along with an indoor fountain. There is even a hanging plant by the fountain.

    upload_2020-8-9_1-22-49.png

In the back room of the first floor, we have the smithy.

    upload_2020-8-9_1-24-16.png

On the second floor we have a nice alchemy area along with a sick bed (and stairs to the patio that was posted earlier).

    upload_2020-8-9_1-26-32.png

On the second floor, we also have a nice cozy library:

    upload_2020-8-9_1-30-47.png

Lastly, we have a rooftop patio:
