Anyone interested in trading in-game pixels for art pixels? I'll take a shot at some avatar or signature art. I've been getting inspired by the art I've seen around the forums, especially E1000's projects, and decided I'd put my stuff out here. The first couple are illustrations of my favorite mask. I had a blast taking 30 pixels and trying to flesh it out more while keeping it as accurate as I could. I also included a recent DnD character design. I usually make realistic art but have been wanting to learn some digital illustration like this for awhile. It has been a fun challenge and taken me back to being a kid when everything I drew was monsters, magic, and swords. All that said, I'm not a pro artist and very much so a Photoshop newb. So if you like this stuff I could make more like it, but I'm kinda limited for now as far as what style I can work in. If anyone is interested we can figure out a price that makes sense for the project. EDIT: Since there's some interest here's what I'm going with for pricing: 100k gp per hour. Payment on delivery. Edits/adjustments within reason included. I will complete them in order of commission. Thanks for the interest everyone!
@Tysis no harm in learning photoshop and becoming skilled at it, but maybe your an awesome painter, hand illustrator, or other. If your an expert in those areas of art try to use that and scan the images into digital format. E1000 was a digital artist and photoshop pro to start with.
@Tysis that method often works well. Just be sure not to limit yourself to that method if something else might look better with your style. Art is not about trying to copy a method you have seen done before. Its about the creative process of finding your style and polishing that into perfection.
@Keza I'm a big fan of the classic hand-drawn animation style of like Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Miyazaki stuff. So a fun project to explore that. My main thing is completely different. Did you make your avatar illustration?
Yes, I did my profile image but its quite sloppy. I knew the image sizes going in so I didn't want to put too much time into it
