how do u AFK

is there a way to afk macro or afk bank sit without turning on your computer?

i know this sounds impossible, but are there free cloud computers i can install UO on, and then use that to afk macro? that way i don't need to keep my personal computer on all the time

The only way to macro is with some computer on. Period. There are projects out there to interact with servers in a headless fashion (ie command line), but they're still nascient.

You can try "bank" sitting in the event center. You will remain logged in even if you turn off your machine. However, I've heard that it's frowned upon, and you might find yourself in a different location when you log in.

i used to use some network computers to run programs at work, where the network computer never shuts down
so on my end, i can turn off my laptop after giving command to the network computer

similarly, if there is a network computer that i can use, and install UO on, then i only need to use that to run macro, and can turn off my laptop

Yeah, if that networked computer can run a UO client, you can totally be online without a personal machine running.

A cheapo low power laptop left out of sight would cost almost nothing to run and the client doesn't need to be doing anything, just be logged in. I imagine it could be any laptop, UO could run on a potato.

What's the concern in regards to running a PC from your house?

I use a low powered laptop hidden away, using Google remote desktop I connect to it and run basic macros and just leave toons afk and this frees up my main machine to sleep / power off

that's one of the reasons why i look for a free remote computer
i dun wanna have to turn on my computer all the time to save energy. seems such a waste of energy
another reason is that im forced to put my computer in a corner of my house that has very weak wifi signal, so it disconnects a lot
