Recently found out that our friend Xegugg has passed away. She's been battling for a long time so I hope she's at peace. I didn't know her all that well, but well enough to know she was a cool chick who had a deep understanding of UOR history. She was a treasure in itself and shared a unique perspective about this place. She had taken up painting and was working on 10 piece project involving sunflowers, where the words "Fuck Cancer" where slyly spelled out. If memory serves, her intention was to donate this piece to the hospital where she was receiving treatments. Anyhow, with some tracking I pinned down what I believe are to be the 10 pieces, though I'm not sure what order the "C"s are intended to be in. Wanted to share here, for posterity's sake. Some of these pictures are of incomplete pieces, but it's the latest we've got available publicly. Don't suppose she'd mind my sharing this and hope the artwork got where it was going. Anyhow, here's what I'm assuming are the pieces in order. RIP, rulg agh gug'ye
To be brave is to cry But still to fight on, And that's what you did, Our hero, our Xegugg. The battle was hard. We thought we had won, But still you fought on, Our hero, our Xegugg. The happiness you brought To the lives you have touched Will live on forever As you are loved so much. When we close our eyes we can see you. When we whisper your name we can hear you, And when we reach with our hearts we can touch you. Goodnight our hero, our Xegugg But you have died a woman a hero, a friend. Your spirit will be all around us, Rest in Peace. And FUCK CANCER!!!
So sad to hear that Xeggug passed away... was one of the main players of the shard of my generation. We talked a bit about her cancer, but on that time i was not sure she wanted to talk about it or not... is such a hard topic... looking from now, i wish i could have more conversations with her.... in our first chats she showed me some of her paintings... i think she send me one that was not shared here yet.. check it out: Rest In peace xegugg!
Very sad to hear of her passing. We spoke on several occasions about her cancer, paintings and UOR over the years.... If you have one of the in game Sunflower paintings and would like its title customized to honor Xegugg, please page in game with the coordinates of the painting & this service will be provided free of charge. She also has a memorial established:
This sucks. I never go on Facebook anymore, otherwise I would have known sooner. She passed away on July 16th. I've known Xeg since playing with her during the original days of UO. We played together in the same guild through UO's prime and then went right into playing wow together. We eventually found each other again here on UOR. We were friends for over 20 years.
Rest in peace Xeg, you will definitely be missed. While not many, I always enjoyed our conversations and interactions over the years. Prayers for your family as well.
Very sad news, rest in peace Xeg, always loved her stories about the beginning of UOR, she fought bravely and will always be remembered!
Xegg was my first pk buddy (she was the evil and hilarious Mini Cat Head) on this shard and I was one of her many RP orc grunts. Had a falling out for reasons I never understood, but I never didn't like her and am sad. *pours out some grog*
I hope she is at relative peace in the orc fort in the sky. Sad, I'll miss her stories and great attitude.
RIP, remember a few encounters in game, way back... pretty sweet artwork though, that's sad and cancer sucks.
Great community here... wondering if anyone has a contact to her family ... just to let them know really how special she was here? I'm sure it would mean alot to them.
