Inga, one of our village crafters, is in the process of filling blacksmith BODs (currently filling a 10 exceptional dull copper helmet). Her blacksmith skill is 78.1 and has made several regular and exceptional-quality helmets. She is unable to smelt down the regular ones. Is this because she has no mining skill (failure caused by 'You have no idea how to work this metal')? Will she need to learn mining in order to progress?

The odd thing is that she was able to smelt weapons made with dull copper ingots earlier...though the smelting process rendered them into normal iron. Is this worthy of a bug report or am I missing something obvious?

    Respectfully,
    Gerhard

Correct, mining is needed. (65 I think for dull copper)

I appreciate the insight...but now need to figure out what to cut.

    Thank you!

You could simply have another player do it for you. Or another account. (I'm guessing you don't want to go that route, though.)

    Fisher of Men, thank you.

My blacksmith can build armor with colored ingots and my miner, with no blacksmithing experience, is able to smelt them down and recover the colored ingots.
