cc ONE OF A KIND CHANCE TO OWN "A ROSE" GIVE THIS BEAUTY TO YOUR MOST VALUED SWEETHEART! S/B 3M MINIMUM BID INCREMENTS 100K AUCTION ENDS 48 HOURS AFTER LAST BID
My understanding is that it was a very old GM creation for a fallen player/companion that sat in a house on a little "shrine" type thing. And that house fell this past week. It looks like the "pure ginseng" icon to me. As far as I can tell, it's the only of its kind on the server at the moment.
Normally I would not interject into a trade discussion however I wanted to provide some additional information about this item. This is a very old static item and isn't covered by the standard rules applied to unique items added to the world. This could be the only one for some time, or players could see them used for a holiday event down the road. (In 2001 OSI handed out roses as part of a Valentines day event where every player received one of these labeled "A Whispering Rose from <Playername>")
Wont you be my Valentine !!! WHITE Roses for Christmas Event !! Black Roses for Halloween!! All sorts of uses for these things
Felucca UO players have enough bad juju to make 27 round trips to hell and back. Whats a little more? :-/
Not to be a jerk or know it all but, roses were first introduced on Valentine's in 2000 and were released again later. Although, I could of sworn that they were released in 99. Oh, well. http://uo2.stratics.com/items/holiday-special-items/holiday-items-2000-2003
I cant remember if it was osi or what but i remember seeing "a rose from <players name>" so if they do come out later there is a good chance this one could still be rare. And i wanted to add that it was lame of who ever was refreshing that castle with the "shrine" to the guy that died irl to let it fall.
Might I suggest that whoever wins this donates it to telamon to make a special area for this person and future players that pass away. It seems pretty crappy to profit from someone's death memorial.
It's a pixel in a video game that was used as such, but it was not designed for that purpose. If I put grave dirt pixels and a gravestone pixel in my house in honor of my passed father, I would assume they would mean something only to me. I don't mind if you attach a different meaning to the rose, but for me, if I win it, it's just a rare deco. Not being callous, that's really all it is.
