I think the majority of us called WBB home at some point, but what developed into your favorite or go to town? On Great Lakes in 2000, I was in a guild called TBH, and they called the Nujel'm roof home. I always thought the city was atrocious, but no one ever banked there, so it would make GvG fights a blast because there weren't random players to bother you. On PR servers, I've always preferred Glow. With easy access to the moongate, T2a, and a nice city layout, I find it to be very satisfying. I have ALWAYS hated Yew. From the layout, to the trees, to the wildlife, I cannot for the life of me understand why people love that city aside from being able to bank from housing. What towns do you prefer?
Skara for my tamers due to bank/stable, alternatively Moonglow during invasions. Cove for my miners due to bank/forge.
Cove looks the nicest to me. Mountains and water and farms, the cool wooden fort wall, nearby access to the Orc Fort and a Graveyard.
I am a big video game music nerd, so I have made Vesper my home town on may servers (best town music, imo). On other shards I have enjoyed Yew, but more for RP elements. Waaay back in the day it was indeed WBB as well as Vesper (on the OSI shards). I like the sandstone look of Nujelm and Magincia and Trin, but dont really go there much. And on this shard its all over the place actually. I had had reasons to be at most major towns for rp, for trade, to set up guild stuff or to dock my boats. It feels like a lot of variety this time, which is awesome. We cannot place in T2A, and I am glad for that.
Personally, i'd love to see housing in T2A, but that's just me. T2A is just my favorite expansion and place to adventure. Put housing with it and I might never leave it.
I like Trinsic but mostly just because hardly anyone banks where I bank. I even liked Trinsic before Ultima Online.
I don't use it anymore but Trinsic was where I was born and raised. But practically speaking Skara Brae, I could run between shops blindfolded.
I've always been a fan of Trinsic. The large sandstone walls and paved pathways are easy on the eyes. 2 banks, 2 stables, 2 inns with an event gate close to home, what isn't to like? When running through town I feel like a Medieval King behind his great walls. Also Trinny has some of the best ingame music attached to it.
I remember playing Ultima IV back in the day, and always liked going to sleepy little Skara Brae. With my sling in hand. LOL
Trinsic and Skara were my main towns back in the day, while every so often I would have some devoted time to Delucia/Papua. Now it is Serpents Hold and Magincia as my favorites, out away from the hub bub.
