This voting thread is long overdue for the thread about magic jewelry. So where are the magic rings, earrings, necklaces? Please vote here and this will be linked to the original and frequently viewed thread. Please keep in mind it is my opinion, and thus implied in this vote, that an affirmative vote means you agree that magic items should not impair, impede, impact, or affect PvP in any way that gives other's an 'advantage' or which would require others to forever include the magic items in their PvP strategy in order to compete. Voting no means that you do not believe that magic jewelry should even be considered. If you vote no, it is encouraged that you provide a counter argument explaining why you don't think these items belong at all. (My argument for having them is also implied and it is that magic items do belong in this game as they are part of the original UO we all know and love, and provide meaningful elements to playstyles of this game including: treasure hunting, monster hunting, general adventuring, etc)
I'd kinda like to have a ring of nightsight but I just can't see how time spent on implementing jewelry like this should rank anywhere but the very bottom of Telamon's perpetually growing to-do list. Also, nice play on words, Jup.
Godric I'm glad my subtle play was not lost on you haha! I agree that magic items shouldn't be a priority by any means, but definitely want to keep it on the table. Also I would love to see these kinds of things silently and slowly introduced.
VOTED FOR CUSTOM MAGIC JEWELRY. FOR EXAMPLE... Necklace of Sustenance The wearer of this ring is always satiated and does not need to eat. Animal Cruelty Bracer Cows, dogs, cats, sheep, rabbits, bullfrogs, chickens, pigs, and small birds will flee from the wearer of this bracer. Effect does not apply to magpies. Those f**kers are fearless. Ring of Grotesque Amounts of Wealth The owner of this ring takes 1% less damage from all sources for every 100k worth of Trammel clothing they are wearing. Value of clothing is determined by taking the average value of Dalavar's Guide to Price Checks and the IRC price check bot. Effect stacks multiplicatively if more than one Ring of Grotesque Amounts of Wealth is equipped. Effect cannot be combined with a Necklace of Ridiculous Soul-Crushing Poverty. Offer not valid in all cities. Does not include tax or shipping fees. Not applicable for UOR employees or direct family members of UOR employees. An optional upgrade to this ring will search the value of objects in your bank box and add it to your damage reduction total at a 50% rate.
I want to know the specific attributes that the necklace of ridiculous soul-crushing poverty endows. We know that it shouldn't be combined with the ring of GAW, and while the name seems pretty self explanatory, I would like to be enlightened as to the specifics!
