The following is a comprehensive guide to how Slayer instruments & weapons work on Renaissance. Slayers are magical properties that can be found on both weapons & instruments which will substantially improve their effectiveness against their appropriate types of enemies. For weapons, this simply makes them do more damage, for instruments it will improve the success rate for all barding abilities. However it should be noted that while slayers will be largely effective against their respective units, using them against units which are part of their opposition group opposing that slayer type, will yield a reduction in the efficiency of that item. In these instances, weapons will do reduced damage & instruments will suffer a penalty to the success rate. Each Slayer category contains several sub-classes for each category. Each sub-class has at least 1 unit which it is effective against. Each Slayer category also contains its own "Super-Slayer" as well, which is effective against every unit of that category. The opposition rules apply to both Slayers & Super-Slayers. There are 8 groups of Slayer categories, and they break down as such: Legend _::_ Red = Champions _::_ Orange = Bosses
It's a minimal form of protection against plagiarism. Anyone who would decide to try & copy/paste the work done in the original post would be stuck advertising Renaissance doing so, not that the guide itself is some grand work of art, but point being.
Just a temporary fix until I work this into the compendium in a slightly more difficulty format to copy. We have had problems with other shards straight up stealing our guides, pictures, etc and claiming them as their own.
I could have been more clear. On the Ancient Liche, I was referring to the spawn location rather than the susceptibility to slayer weapons.
Yeah, I know where he is. I tried farming them a few weeks ago and was disappointed I didn't get any slayer weapons/instruments. At this point, I'm just curious as to why the Ancient Liche is not in the list.
Ancient Liches currently drop silver instruments, should drop humanoid slayers. I don't see Executioners in the Repond list... are they currently susceptible to Repond? I don't see the Harrower in the Abyss category... don't know if he bleongs in it or not, but he seems pretty abysmal. Edit/Add 7/4 - Dread Spiders currenly drop silver instruments instead of reptilian slayers
Humanoids (I have found a ton in Titans) and any non-enemy-slayer bearing monster (if that makes sense). For example: Diseased Blood Elementals will drop silver instruments, since they are not "coded" to carry anti-abyss instruments.
They are, ancient lich is the first creature on the listings for the silver slayer group. Just as regular liches & lich-lords, they are affected by silver slayers as well.
