/* You awake to find this note slipped under your door */ Dear neighbor, It is with great sadness that I write this note. It seems our usually peaceful, the Grey Wizard's dangerous antics notwithstanding, Village of Paws may not be as safe as we thought. You see, my tailoring shop has been victim to a grand theft. Per order of the Village of Paws and the People of Britannia, myself and a few other tailors had been working diligently to fulfill a large bulk order of 200 barbed leather suits to be donated to the Project Sanctuary as a gesture of goodwill. We very much admire the work that they do to help our young adventurers find their footing in the often-harsh landscapes of Britannia and we thought that these suits would be a fitting thank-you gift. After a long day of sorting through all of the armor, packing away each set into piles of locked crates, and arranging the delivery of said crates I was feeling a bit restless. I took a trip to the lost lands to collect some horned leather and when I returned, I found all but three crates completely empty! Not long after this discovery, I heard the sound of matter materializing on my front yard quickly followed by the sound of someone running away. I thought it peculiar but continued trying to salvage what I could of the armor. After a few minutes, I heard the sound again. I realized then that it might be the thief returning for the last few armor sets but running away, as any coward might, when he heard sounds of activity coming from inside the shop. I rushed out of the front door but found no one, except my vendor Kale who had just begun his shift. I asked Kale if he had gotten a look at the suspect but Kale only replied that it was "a cat." So, my good neighbors, please be on the lookout for "a cat," whatever that's supposed to be mean. - Enna, Seamstress of the Spirit Wood
Dear Alice: I am sorry for your loss of goods. Some of my spies have provided evidence of this theft and I feel compiled to share it with you as well. Please see the picture attached of the theft in progress below. This was a fun score for me, when I recalled back in and you where there I was like ooooohhhhh no I'm going to pay for this now. Lol.
Oh dear. I had hoped that others would learn from Jupiter's folly! Haha. The same thing had happened to me. Remember Paws is not off limits to friends nor felons. Lock your doors or lock your items down. Excellent work on the story post! Written in the true spirit of Paws. If you have need of any assistance getting back up on your feet let me know. I've heard that by the time the property insurers of Britannia process your claim the industrial age will have come and gone.
Bad neighborhood, that's why I moved. Only would have been a matter of time until they started grave robbing
hahahahaahahahahahah. this made me laugh IRL with that precise number of added ha's. Looting bones is no laughing matter to Brymstone! *sweeps stolen crypt bones under steps*
Thank you for the kind words, Jupiter. I appreciate the offer but I think I'll wait it out. I'm curious to see what these steam engine things are all about.
Esteemed Seamstress, I'm sorry for your loss. We, People of Britannia, are a family and therefore will do anything we can to help with your losses. Please send me a raven and let us meet to discuss what needs to be done. Nym [OOC: 1 Platinum Coin is awarded for storytelling]
It might not be a bad idea for the villagers of Paws and the other towns to form something of a town guard to conduct regular patrols to deter crime in their respective settlements. I know that even being warden of the Watchtower close to the new settlement at Cape Adalet I am always having the groundskeeper and other tower staff checking the grounds for anything unusual and of course locking the doors up tight at sundown.
I would love to. As of yet, I'm still having trouble figuring out how to get my hands on some barbed!
If you have a bit of finesse, you can get all the barbed you want following people around in Destard. Most people don't collect the barbed leather. You could just clean up after they loot. Most players don't take the scrolls or gems and sometimes not even the magic armor and weapons. All these things can be sold to NPCs. It helps if you have hiding. Be prepared to be a PK target but if all you are doing is cleaning up you shouldn't have anything to lose except some regs.
Alice contact me in IRC, if your giving these suits to new players I will return them too you. I have had my fun and got my picture but I will play nice and give them back as long as they are going to new players.
I was almost encouraged to see that there still are some decent people around, picking up the mantle of my glorious trade, but this... Anathema!!
