i was doing a blue today and you mention provoking navigators/quartermasters onto each other.. i have a repond instrument i failed approx 12 times in a row (i never succeeded once) is that normal or did i come down with the worst luck today?

It is certainly not "normal", but possible. Meaning it does happen, not too often, maybe every 4-5 amibs. In which case I use a boatswain to distract either or both, and then go to work keeping trying to provo them. Eventually you will succeed.

Quartermaster to navigator or vice versa is a toughie compared to Quartermaster to sailor because both (qm and nav have high barding difficulties)

Sometimes it's better to provo a qm to a sailor just to get the heat off of you, then work him to another target (mainly because a qm will wreck a sailor/boatswain fairly fast)

Also spawn location of mobs in an amib can sometimes really screw with your success chances. Makes them super tough sometimes, and other times super easy!

yeah - this guide says that the 2 navigators should have been on the middle floor of the lighthouse but mine were both on the bottom floor.

needless to say- i failed this amib :)

That amib (blue) to me is by far the hardest one for me. I've only failed 1 amib out of over 60 and it was a blue. At least your loot shows up after you exit!

I had all h navigators and QM in the basement. I tried multiple approaches to pass them and just couldn't friggin do it :(

woooo yeah that's good news. For example:

die with loot inside an area i can't get back to

get partial loot from corpse, but die again

    exits amib through portal

after a few minutes tops your corpseS will pop up on the ground :D

Going to attempt my first one soon (purple) with a provo lumberjack. I'm hoping magery isn't necessary and is primarily on the build to deal with the chests. I have my magery around 20 for recalls, which is enough to cast unlock and telekinesis from scrolls, I believe. Should I anticipate any problems going in with such low magery?

Hello, did you ever try it with other people?
its always a good idea to totally control the instance before attempt an ironman. :)

i run with 0 magery and its still fine. its unnecessary for amibs. the purple should be easy if you are cautious. just watch the ghost boss for the double flamestrike :)

lots of people do great without magery, i just really enjoy casting to have extra utility! casting reflect makes them take way less time usually.

magery might be useful but for me magic resist is much better.

its very rare that a quartermaster or ghost boss actually casts on me - its all about being a provo boss!

New build (to me) able to ironman!!!! Provo dexxers are a favorite of mine, but this was way less hectic. Still need to rid of magery since it's too much of an investment imo but still quite effective. War Hammer crushing blows are a beautiful thing.
