Along this same vein (mining puns for the win) are a set of housing spots I used to GM mining myself that are now empty and can fit a small house at each (Some could likely fit a larger house). I simply mined the mountain from one house to the next and placed forges outside each house. I posted this in IRC a while back but not on the forums - Going back to the area just now, I found a lot of houses had fallen since I left which has likely made room for larger houses.
