Anyone have any idea on why the trading post is so slow these days?

2 thoughts, 1st the economy as a whole hasn't been producing as much as it has in the past 6 months. 2nd, the upper middle class has shrunken. Resulting only lower end rares and discounted resources being sold.

When people list items that equate to over 20% of the server's gold it probably dissuades lots of people from checking tbh.

And i'm not sure how, but the value of items has dropped quite a lot. This is likely because more people have made bod reward items, so some newcomer lowballed a lot of starting bids and now it's became the norm, or the market was flooded and the value naturally dropped

when sales of 20m+ and don't include a lot of trades, people have to sell a lot of stuff to a lot of players to get that much gold. Then we have a lot of people gold poor but tram rich who can't buy more tram because the trammers/deco-ers need gold!

I wonder how much of it has to do with plat not being as in demand as it once was. A lot of big trades had some plat in it and a lot of people now don't accept plat and just prefer gold.

Right, they're on there but not selling. Any of it.

Only maybe 10 people can afford 60 million gold for sandals, etc...

Just seems really slow. Maybe time for a new plat/gold/HC sink? New rewards?

How many people are gold rich, plat rich, or pixel rich?
    I like gold.

I think most are pixel rich though and hang on to a few mill.

I need checks > 1 mill please. Call it a faction change if you have to :p

I think several factors affected. Plat value plummeting and items generally being cheaper.

There is a gorgeous metallic red 2013 2012 reindeer mask up for sale with a SB of 2 mill. I bought mine maybe well over a year ago for 3 4mill. Makes very little sense to me.

    EDIT: corrected innacuracies

More/new/wanted items generates more demand, more demand generates more movement of goods. More movement of goods stimulates the economy in the positive.

For me I stopped using it because everything is out of my price range, or quickly gets out of my price range because when a big player decides they want something, they will either trigger the BO, or place a huge BI.

And your arrogance blinds you again.

Who here has 21 million? Who here has 2+ million for a dragon? Who here has 10 million for a green horse? We are talking about the same small handful of people but your arrogance and vast wealth blinds you to that. All your buddies have endless supplies of cash, plat and pixels and that's super cool.

The movement of goods doesn't mean shit has to sell for hundreds of millions, it means it has to sell. You keep reverting back to high priced items and here I'm trying to explain to you that it's more important for small and mid priced items to move for decent prices. Right now they are not doing that. Economy stimulation is important to server health.

Point being what @ham just wrote.

    Haha man I'm super chill.

    Really.

I have an opinion, you don't agree, I respond back, then you respond back. This is how a forum goes. Neat eh?

Doesn't mean I'm not chill. Just differing opinions and we wont change them. The trade forum is slow and I personally think that the economy needs a boost. I also think you're arrogant. I'm allowed to think all of these things.

    Anyways, good chat my man!

Haha out of the two of us, you're putting in the effort. I have a feeling you might be offended. I'm sorry if me thinking you're arrogant hurts your feelings.
