Xanthus brought this up about a week ago - that you couldnt use doracron to boat from Britiania to Lost Lands When I recognized there were two Serp Pillars, I tried command on both (maybe it only works on one) but each failed Minor bug since you can portage however would be cool to sail to and thro I also havent sailed in LL so assume that command isnt functioning either
I actually was farting around on my large ship just a few days ago and tried the Old Lands Serpent Pillar for the hell of it to see if it had been fixed - and it did work and shifted me into the Lost Lands.
The serpent pillars are functional at this time, however you must be quite close in range to the pillars themselves when speaking the keywords (doracron & sueacron) in order for it to acknowledge your command & trigger. I'll look into increasing the range at which the pillars recognize commands.
Hrm.... I was against the pillar in two cases, another sailing by with boat on sceen Tried anchoring, moving to front of boat There is a big fish in hold Ill test again thanks
I just tried, less than 5 minutes ago. I too tried at various distances from the Serpent Pillar, from the bow of my ship kissing the pillar, to my stern nearly sitting on it. My railings were nearly scrapped-off and tried with anchor up as well down too. I spoke the word, doracron, till my keyboard started to smoke  Although I knew better, I even tried the "word" withing parenthesis, like this: (doracron) Heck, I even tried cussing at it a bit. All was in vain. Ezekiel, are you sure you weren't using Witchy Witch's boat? (yes, I just referenced H.R. Puff-n-Stuff, a children's show from the 60's)
I was on a small boat I tried anchored and unachored next to pillar, then tried sailing by with pillar in sight but no deal What size boat were you on SirLanceAlittle? Zagyg, were you anchored, sailing, how close, etc?
I was on my small fishing boat, the Nautical Dream II. If memory serves me correctly, the Serpent Pillars should port you, your ship, and anyone on your ship, from several tiles away while moving as well as stationary. I do hope this is how it eventually ends up here. It would be very hard to flee a Pirate Ship, or an irate Kraken, if one had to get right up against the pillar and drop the anchor. Oh well, time will tell and regardless of how it ends up, we'll still be happy when the pillars work at all.
I just tried on each side of pillar as suggested by Xan but no deal. Im tempted to port the small and get a large boat to see what happens. I also saw the Nautical Dream II there by pillar =).
Tried on a large dragon boat that wasnt renamed but no doracron - my other was sm reg boat that was named
I had to be at least this close in proximity for the serpent pillars to recognize my commands, but it is indeed working.
Got it - the character not the boat needs to be right on pillar I was able to traverse back and forth Thanks!
Ran into this exact problem tonight Large Dragon Boat, unammed Touching pillar in all positions - no dice Pulled up amidships, openned the plank, walked out and spoke the word Doracron.... Poof, made the transition
