This is a known issue I've been working on actually, all light sources seem to have the incorrect default for light effect.

Some fixes require me to manually (or globally) adjust the properties for an item. While some require the item be deeded and replaced.

    Thanks for the Report!

These will be fixed in patch 51.

Chris, is there anything else you need from us on this? I wrote myself a note to test some other items tonight and post screenshots (small brazier, torch, lantern, etc) in case that would help. But sounds like you don't need this.

Also note that Braziers cannot be re-deeded (as far as I can tell!). When you use the original deed, you choose the short or tall style, and from then on it becomes that item. So you can pick it up and put it down, but I don't think you can turn it back into a deed.

There are definitely some wild variations in lighting effects when running through dungeons with lanterns and torches.

I discovered this as well, and have been fixing them slowly. If you have an old one that is placed just bug me and I can fix it manually.

Just wanted to post now that the patch is out...do these require fixing, or is this how they are supposed to look after the patch?

Honestly, I don't think the 'ray' of light is even appropriate for the braziers. I can't speak to how they were on OSI but looking at the item, one could surmise that it would output a fairly uniform radius of light with no beam effect.

Beams are for light enclosures, like streetlamps and the like.

If the braziers had a more 'torch orange' glow too, that would be sweet. :

Thats what Chris is saying, Blaise. The 2nd pic posted by Boothby has the appropriate bloom effect for the NW side lighting effect, however, it still has the inappropriate ray on the SE side . Both sides should display the bloom effect.

Oh, ok. I think the bloom should be 2x that size at least. Torches give a larger field than that if I recall correctly. That seems a bit off.

There are 2 lighted elements in those braziers. The brazier itself and the fire. I thought I had updated both, but it seems only one took the change.

This still seems amiss. As pictured, I'm holding a torch that is an arguably smaller light source than a brazier. The SE brazier is in fact, not lit and should not be emitting light. The SW brazier has the beam effect shown above and a small candle sized light radius. Just figured I'd share what I found and bump this on the list of little insignificant things that make RPers smile.
