*I didn't see a suggestion thread so move this if in wrong place* I can't be the only one who thinks camping could be better utilized. As it stands it is really only good for strength gaining and the roleplaying woodsman. Here are my simple suggestions for discussion: Simple: Make bedrolls blessed. This would allow people to tote their roll mindlessly around and be able to log off via camping easier. You would still need to place bedroll on ground, double click it, and have decent camping skill to log off quickly so lowered exploit value. Complex: Make it so GM tailors can make blessed bedrolls with x number of uses. Any thought?
If you start a new character with camping skill you start with a newbie (blessed) bed roll. With camping you can also insta log out. I do like the idea of enhancing camping. Would be nice if GM tailors could make custom bedrolls. You could make some very basic ones or have onez that require rare furs to make special hues or "plush". Would be cool if gm tailors could make like a mini tent too. As for making it more functional than it is now I'm not sure. Maybe make some kind acheivement system where you have to camp in certain over world locations. Not sure you could link anything more than vanity achievements to a skill like camping.
GM camping is rolling with a small house deed on you. While being chased you see an open plot, macro dump the house, get inside, and floss on them fools through the window Fortnite style.
Doh! I forgot about that! I will need to mule me up a few. Yes but the number of times you have to open and double click the bedroll before you log is based on skill afaik. This is a valid $43,800 option as well. I see small plots everywhere. Edit: added insta-log quote and answer.
Insta log out isn't based on skill at all. how fast you can light a camp fire and how long it takes to "feel like your camp is secure" is based on skill level. I have 0 camping and i can generally secure camp in under 5 minutes.
I'm not one for changing the mechanics or the essence of the game. I do think it'd be a cool small tweak if camping also allowed you to recover health, int and dex faster as well. Since you should always have that newbied dagger you could get some quick tinder and set up camp for awhile if you are in a bind. It would make trying to recover your body in the middle of no mans land a bit more convenient. Not that that's ever happened to me or anything....
I like it! Make it all stats! would be cool to see pvpers staying within the camp area to keep regens up! PvMers could set up camp before taking on a large enemy. No way to really exploit since you're really limited to time to secure camp and physical proximity to the camp. It could possibly interfere with Dueling pits if camping area can extend into them, but that's more a problem for the consensual duelists to address if they don't want camping. We should promote this! #Make Camping Great!
The higher your camping should increase the amount of stones you can carry. Would be great for farmers could hold more gold and wouldn't have to bank as often. Also good for resource gatherers and for idocers to hold more phat loot. Only downfall it would put alot of pack horses out of work.
