Tournaments are fun, even if just watching (well for me). The capture the flag games are a nice place to shake a stick and change things up. however.. The team assortments, why are they not randomized? Every time I have attended has basically ended up the same way minus the 4-way map. One stacked team vs bunch of people that aren't established. lasting impressions: *Why join unless you have: an alchemist or are 'fully stocked' (it isn't a, 'come drop in and try it out' kind of affair) *Why join if you don't have a runic weapon or a few skill-sets that can bypass that. *Yes you could join in and just be a healer, regardless - you are fodder. I guess if a person wanted the experience to be different they could organize their own thing, though this is the shard run thing.. and attendance is, well. You know how it is. It's easy to try it a couple times and get a bad taste quickly. I am wondering how many people have attempted it and just said.... YEAH not my thing? Also wondering how many people have attempted it and said... damnit I'mma get myself STOCKED and RUNIC'd and Imma stick it right in their ______ next time! ------------ *If possible could a small readable book with 'How to capture a flag' be placed in the event lobby somewhere? I understand this may take away from the player interaction, simple conversation, though it 'could' be helpful with very minimal effort. Why a book, well, because the un-organized, un-knowing folk usually join with minutes to spare. (but i guess they could look it up in forums or ask questions, but what does a noob know about asking the right questions?) "is this the ctf?" "when does it start?" (never ask, "how do i capture a flag?") and by the time its good to know, its too late. Or the people you're with just forget to ask, "'do you know how to do things?" ------------ "thank you for coming to play with us" Yes - I thoroughly enjoy dying on average once per minute // I myself actually dont mind it at all, though I can easily see how that is off putting for future attendance. Even when the SPANK team IS holding its punches (its hilarious, some do pull their punches) it just doesn't matter. That is the power of better equipment - proper builds. Drop in and play, casual? no, definitely not for casuals. (unless you enjoy punishment) *grin* Opinions on CTF for guild vs guild (or organized) events or CTF random assignment of teams anyone?
