    This post will serve as a quick guide to the new and exciting changes coming to Renaissance this summer. While we do our best to never over promise on development we wanted to open some topics for player discussion and get everyone excited.

    Easter!

    Mining
    • Cave, Forest, Mountain Trolls will no longer target pack animals
    • Resolved a problem in which the trolls were being spawned in situations they shouldn't.
    • Adjusted the difficulty of the trolls based on player experience.
    • Adjustments to the ore yield when mining small 2x2 mining nodes in town limits.

    Champion
    • Improved AI and abilities for the various champion bosses to reduce the ability for players to use 2/3 characters when finishing off a champion spawn.
    • Explore the option of creating a champion spawn allied with 3 major NPC groups (Pirates, Orcs, Undead)
    • These champions could be placed inside the guild alliance areas allowing player linked guilds to defend their champion.

    Crafting
    • Improved formula for calculating the amount of ingots recovered when smelting metal items.
      Currently this is 50%, in the future will be based on the players mining skill.
    • Improved formula for calculating the amount of loss when failing to craft an item.
      Currently this is 50%, in the future will be based on the difficulty of the item, and your related crafting skill.
    • Ability to unravel things like bone armor and looted items from monsters.
    • Ability to repair bows and carpentry weapons.
    • Addition of 20+ new carpentry addons & furniture, utilizing oak boards.

      Note: Not all items pictured will be craftable.

    Carpentry BOD's
    • New Bulk Order System based on Carpentry, Fletching and Tinkering.
    • Each vendor will provide their respective type of small bulk order deeds.
    • While all vendors will provide a chance for large deeds.
    • In depth reward matrix providing rewards such as new addons, furniture dye tubs.

    Animal Taming
    • New Endgame taming content, designed to be fun and challenging for tamers.
    • New Content to make the process of training a tamer more enjoyable.
    • Expansive instanced event providing a unique challenge for tamers.
    • New Mini Town added as part of the event.
    • 3 new bosses, and many new creatures complete with custom designed AI.
    • Ability to earn additional bonded pets by completing the instanced event.
    • Hardmode version of the instanced event for the most accomplished and skilled tamers.

    Guild Alliances
    • Finish the implementation of the undead and pirate alliances.
    • Finish the creation of the pirate island areas/towns. (Bald Island, Trinsic SW Beach)
    • Implement additional content allowing for RP guilds to have minimal town functions in their aligned areas.

    Capture the Flag
    • Platinum Trophy rewards for exceptional performance on the winning and losing teams.
      Most Flag Captures, Most Points for each team, with a bonus for the winners.
    • Player based scoring system with leaderboard.
    • Multiple weekly CTF matches.
    • New 2 Player and 4 Player CTF Arenas.

    1v1, 2v2 Structured Tournaments
    • Automated Tournament system implementation allowing for players to sign up, and wait to be pulled for their match.
    • Open up the new tournament lobby and arena for these tournaments.
    • Platinum rewards for players based on participation and placement.

    Dungeon Chests
    • Endgame content for the rogue class in the form of level 5 dungeon chests.
    • New quest, instanced style content for specialized rouge characters with unique rewards.

    Treasure Map Chests
    • Endgame content for the treasure hunter class in the form of level 6/7 treasure maps and instanced content.

    And much more.

    I tell you what excites me most is this:
    • Addition of 20+ new carpentry addons & furniture, utilizing oak boards.
    If you need some recommendations for items that should be on that list I HAVE SOME. I'll find some examples and post some screenshots of them later.

    :D Can't wait -- sounds exciting, now I must go put mining on my crafter. :)

    Sure seems like the full bookshelves from the platinum system belong with all those other carpentry items. . .

    Very cool. Love the look of the carp rewards, and salivating over the prospect of bonding and training a second dragon (or dare I say, a pack of wolves!).

    I think you mentioned offhand in the past that the carp/tinkering/bowyer large BODs will require items of all 3 types? If so, I think that is an important detail and a very good idea.

    That is correct, a large BOD might consist of 4 carpentry, 1 tinkering and 1 fletching small order.

    Are the new bods on the same timer? Or will a tinker/fletcher/carp be able to get three bods at once?

    You will be able to get 3 BOD's per account, every 6 hours. And you don't have to use the same character for all 3.

    Cant wait to see what a carpentry weapon is!!Maybe my carpenter can protect himself once they come out!!

    The advanced technology require to beat someone with a chair didn't exist until after the UOR era. :)

    I would have guessed the limit would be 1 BOD per account, every 6 hours, and you'd be able to choose whether to fetch it from a Carpenter, Fletcher, or Tinker NPC. To a newer player, that would allow them to enter the system and be on par with vets after GMing one skill on their character, rather than requiring them to GM 3 skills for this system. Would also allow for less items on the server, and less portion of our day spent saying "order status" and sorting these things in books.

    To clarify, I was referring to 1 Tailor, 1 Smith & 1 Carpentry BOD every 6 hours. A carpentry BOD could be from a tinker, fletcher or carpenter npc.

    my biggest worries always come from any ideas that get us away from the era we are playing in in game. i believe it is probably many peoples thought frame, especially those newer here like myself who are inviting people in with the phrase, this is just like it used to be

    Right, I understand. I don't see the advantage of this over just allowing one BOD total from those every 6 hours.
