Below is a summary of the major systems/events planned for the next few months on the Renaissance server. Most of the items listed here are already in development and nearly finished. This list does not include the variety of bug fixes and balancing common in each patch so don't worry if you think something is missing. Most of the systems listed here are coded and ready for application to the live server once rigorous testing and balancing is complete. Feel free to comment on anything in this post and suggest any related ideas. Steam Inspired Achievement System - Patch 56-60 After several months of research and development by the staff we have developed a free shard friendly achievement system. This system creates zero overhead for the game server and is sustainable with a playerbase of our size. Players will be able to track their progress towards 1000 achievements in 8 major categories. The Treasure Hunter and Fisherman achievement tracks will be included in patch 56. The Crafting, Exploration, Rogue, Tradecraft, Hunting, and Virtue achievement tracks will be added over the following months. Rewards will be announced in the future for players who manage to complete the various achievement tracks. There will also be an extensive leaderboard system to see who is doing the best in a variety of achievement metrics. Extensive details for this new system will be posted soon. Housing Improvements - Patch 56-58 Improved detect hidden functionality Related discussion thread Courtyard Moats! Players will be able to purchase a platinum reward that allows for the addition of a "Moat" controlling access to the courtyard. Hybrid Guild System - Patch 57-58 We have created a hybrid of the new guild system and the old stone based guild system to provide our players a more enjoyable guild experience. Players will be able to manage their guild, create alliances, assign custom ranks, delegate roles and much more. Classic guildstone's will still be able to be placed in houses and used to administer the guild. No more faction confusion regarding guild membership. To see the discussion regarding the new guild system click here Guild Town Addition System - Patch 58-60 We will have the formal guild/township system ready to implement sometime this winter. It will allow guilds, large and small, to purchase various additions for their guild town/township. Pictures of two of our early guild additions earned by Stormhold and Paws Capture the Flag - Patch 56-57 Platinum Trophy rewards for exceptional performance on the winning and losing teams. Most Flag Captures, Most Kills, Best Healer for each team, with a bonus for the winners. Accompanying website features to log matches, scores and performance New event schedule with a daily CTF match. New 2 Player and 4 Player CTF Arenas. 1v1, 2v2 Structured Tournaments - Patch 57-58 Automated Tournament system implementation allowing for players to sign up, and wait to be pulled for their match. Open up the new tournament lobby and arena for these tournaments. Platinum rewards for players based on participation and placement. Two tournaments a week will be scheduled starting in patch 56. Crafting - Patch 56-58 Improved formula for calculating the amount of ingots recovered when smelting metal items. Currently this is 50%, in the future will be based on the players mining skill. Improved formula for calculating the amount of loss when failing to craft an item. Currently this is 50%, in the future will be based on the difficulty of the item, and your related crafting skill. Ability to unravel things like bone armor and looted items from monsters. Ability to repair bows and carpentry weapons. Addition of 20+ new carpentry addons & furniture, utilizing oak boards. (Some have already been implemented) Note: Not all items pictured will be craftable. Carpentry BOD's - Patch 58 New Bulk Order System based on Carpentry, Fletching and Tinkering. Each vendor will provide their respective type of small bulk order deeds. While all vendors will provide a chance for large deeds. In depth reward matrix providing rewards such as new addons, furniture dye tubs. Halloween Challenge Event - The Night of Horrors - Patch 57 "You awake to your worst nightmare, Britain has been taken over by the undead. Alone with your fellow adventurers you are tasked with leaving the safety of the Inn and escaping the town. Who knows what horrors await outside the safety of the Inn? Scavenge for supplies, search for other survivors, find hidden caches of supplies and discover secret areas on your way to escaping the nightmare." Player can experience a unique event designed for the Renaissance server this Halloween. Updated with new features for 2014 Note: Pictures from 2013's event. Christmas Challenge Event - Dark Magic Awakens - Patch 57 "A dark spell has been cast over the land, once docile creatures are now out for blood. But not all creatures have been affected by the dark magic. Band together and attempt to find the source of the scourge and drive the dark elves back into the void. " Player can experience a unique event designed for the Renaissance server this Christmas. Updated with new features for 2014 And Much More! BOO for the house security system and the courtyard modifications, which also is a sort of house security system! I hope this doesn't apply for that wooden horse!

Scheduled CTF!?! New BODS!?! Holiday content!?! Will I ever go to work and see my family again? I COMPLETELY disapprove of these changes.... P.S. Where's the Thanksgiving love?
The detect hidden changes simply remove an annoyance of home ownership. It is still up to players to secure their house, and use the detect hidden skill. But far to many players are unfamiliar with the "lock your doors" mechanic and we hope that this will help educate them that both front doors on a house need to be locked not just one. We have lost a lot of great players due to forgetting to lock one of their front doors. As for the courtyard additions, this is itended as a replacement for the "boxing" that is commonplace now. It will serve the same function as 100 boxes in a courtyard. It will most likely be a very expensive platinum reward with some functional caveats applied.
