how many people are usually online? How is the PvM and do you use discord at all or just the forums? what can you and cant you donate for
Definitely a good place if you like pvm. Donations don't get you any items or upper hand in game (main reason I play). Not the largest shard by far, but enough peeps online at any given time to bump into others in a dungeon. There is the odd pk here and there, but you can largely expect to farm without being griefed. More helpful answers from other members to follow
Do it! There is a little of everything here. Definitely no shortage of PvM. Some great PvM endgame stuff too (champs, Amibs, Level 7 tmaps, holiday events) and some awesome pvpers here too. You can find whatever it is you wanna play here, and others to do it with.
Ren uses IRC and the Forums mostly. Individual guilds have their own discord. The PvM options on ren are custom tailored to the Felucca Renaissance era. The balance just feels right. The shard feels active in my opinion. Unless you live under a rock and are anti social. Donations are NOT pay to win. Big A+ there. --- This era of uo is a challenge to get started. Don't get frustrated and if you ever need help many members of this community are more than willing to extend a helping hand. (I've played every uo shard. I only play UO:R)
There is quite a lot to do here. I've been around since 2013 and still find fun adventures. I personally like that you can't p2w here, unless your payment is time and effort. May your ship find safe harbor here!
Absolutely join us! The server as a whole is primarily PvM focused There are a fair number of reds to keep you on your toes and make their presence known. (most of those PKs are usually pretty decent when they get you and simply strip gold/regs and may even toss out a rez before departing) Primary server chat is IRC A number of guilds use Discord for their internal chats There is no option to purchase items or enhancements in game using real world currency Donations are accepted and return copper coins used for various functions that do not impact game play.
It has its ups and downs, exciting and dull points. Bit of a developmental lull at the moment as the big cheese just had a babby. Some things are great, some quite lacking, but overall I'd say it's the best private server I've played on so far.

It's late, I've been working all day, I have to get up in 6 hours, I've been playing for a year and a bit and I'm going to kill just 2 more elves and call it a night. Just 2 more. Unless I find a boss elf, kill it and it doesn't drop a H Coin or a Scoll. If that happens I'll kill 2 more elves. Then I'll call it a night. Unless I see someone at glow when I'm banking. If I see someone at glow I'll see where they're going, if it's a dungeon I'll also go to one dungeon. Maybe Hyloth. And I'll kill one elf. Then I'll call it a night. Unless one of my friends is on and farming. Then I'll play until the next O clock with them and then I'll call it a night. I'll check the forums first though. Then I'll call it a night. If the owner posts up the lottery rewards and says they'll be going live in an hour or 2 I might stay up for another hour. And then I'll call it a night. After I spend some H coin on a lottery reward. Then I'll call it a night. This place is dope. Migrate.
The platinum system on this server encourages people to stay online so that this number stays up. This is a win win situation both for the players and for the server owners. But the drawback is that you do not really know how many of those players are really active. But I can say from playing on this server for almost 2 months around 9pm CET that this server feels active!
In the beginning i had a bad impression about it... i was not "seeing" those 500+ online... but after join some discord channels.. i changed my mind... so many activities happening in this niches.
Yeah I can second this, anyway, run a bit around and you won't find too much ppl afk inside houses, there is a bunch in Ocllo and some more on each citie's banks, but that should not represent substantial percentage. Looking at it in other way I think this system is much better than standard "Veteran rewards" that was intended to reward paid accounts (OSI shards), here you will need to spend time online, playing or bank sitting but it feels better than just get the rewards because I created my accounts on shard launch and never played, it also helps shard economy
