Earlier this morning, pratorian reported that he set up a few chests in his house and they disappeared, dropping all the contents on the floor. I thought maybe a pet destroyed or perhaps his house had been breeched. He used detect hidden and no one showed. Even if the chests weren't locked down, of course this shouldn't happen. Someone else on IRC (don't remember who) chimed in that they had lost a metal chest the same way... it simply disappeared. I didn't see the issue posted thus this report. I have not encountered this potential issue.
I believe every time I've heard of this happening it was due to a creature in the house destroying the chests. I leave my courtyard doors unlocked and sometimes come to find an ettin or something in my fort and it always reminds me when I forgot to lock a chest down.
Yes, me too. He said nothing was there and it happened right in front of him. The second player that lost the metal chest was due to a pet I think.
