(80+ fishing offshore is required to catch a "Big Fish", tis by-catch of a sea serpent)​

(Angler who lands a 200 stoner will receive an additional 50k)​

3 ways to win!

- Biggest Fish: Catch the biggest fish! The angler who catches the heaviest fish will win a free mount to display their spoil, a large boat, 1 platinum, an MIB, and a trophy.

- Smallest Fish: Catch the smallest fish! The angler who weighs in the smallest fish will win a large painting, donuts, a small boat, an MIB, 1 platinum, and a trophy.

- The Largest Haul: Weigh-in all the big fish you catch to accumulate points for The Largest Haul! Angler who weighs in the most stones will win a medium boat, 2 ropes, 2 pieces of platinum, a pillow, an MIB, and a trophy.
Two big fish are required to enter this category. Anglers can submit them on different days.

Rules:

• The tournament will be held between Sunday May 19th and Saturday June 1st. All fish weighed in must have a datestamp on/between those dates.
(Note: datestamp is based on UOR server, US Central, -5 GMT)
• Awards will be given on Sunday, June 2nd. Accommodations will be made to winners that cannot claim their prize(s) on Sunday, the 2nd.
• Anglers weighing fish will qualify for all 3 categories. 1 person could potentially "win it all!"
• Fish weighed in will be credited to the angler, not who turns. Anyone can submit fish for any angler. Angler must be present to claim winnings.
• Use as many fishers as you like. Again, fish is credited to angler marked on fish. (some players are using more than on fisher)


This fish would be credited to Justa if between tournament dates.

• No sign up required! Simply contact Zyler in IRC or Forum PM to submit your fish -OR- post a screen shot of your catch.
DO NOT MOUNT FISH. Mounting a fish will erase datestamp. Fish will need to be verified to collect prize if not seen previously ingame.
Fish weight will only be recorded. You keep your catch.

• Daily and Final Results will be posted on the forums and posted in IRC when updated.

Free fishing charters:
Don’t have a boat? No problem! Several players will be providing free boat charters to take you fishing. Contact Zyler in IRC for boat access. Please contact me if you have a charter to donate.

Notes on Fishing:
Fishing is used with a fishing pole or nets to catch fish (and other objects).
Raising Fishing: Fishing is a difficulty based.
0-65 - On land you will fish up Footwear, Magic Fish, and Normal Fish.
80+ - Sea Serpents (No SoS Message/MIBs), Special Fishing Nets. You can reel in "Big Fish" which can be used to make Trophies via Taxidermy Kits. (a mounted fish)
90+ - Treasure Maps
100 - Messages in a Bottle (aka MIB) / Waterstained SoS Message

You can get to 100% fishing on land, but deep sea fishing gives much faster skill gains.
Monsters will never spawn by fishing from land.

Gideon's Advice: You can gain to 90ish Fishing easily from any coast or dock even without moving much because the water tiles will respawn relatively quickly and you can reach 2-3 different spots from where you are standing. You will begin to see the AFK macroing gump at this point and will need to start attended macroing fishing in the ocean.
