Why do they not attack villains? Should they not attack criminal monsters, murderers, criminal players, et al. ?
I agree and may have also posted a thread on it in the past. The are Order Guards and as such, should be out there dispensing justice in the name of Lord British, right?
They should attack, otherwise they are just there for looks because they currently do nothing. I don't think it should be a guard zone but they should definitely attack grey/reds if they see them.
Exactly. If it were GZ, they'd be insta-kill guards which are stupid/boring to me. They are tough enough and it would just be nice if a player could seek some refuge there when running from some dastardly criminals.
Right now one is doing a great job of standing between a couple tables at my place helping me train the king's magery on a couple characters.
there were never guard zones around the outposts. it was either before i learned about public moongates or before they were turned gump based, i ran from minoc to britain to see the capital for the first time. That was very intense, i couldn't afford a mount and had to stop somewhere to regain stamina and was super happy to see a guard outpost. but there was not guard zone !! Some guy with a poisoned hally got me a little later.
I have been trying to convince the guards near paws to help protect the villagers but the seem content doing nothing in the name of the king... they will gladly reveal hidden things, but that is all. Since they really aren't doing anything, I politely asked them to vacate so Paws could use them, but my request was met with the most vehement slashing of swords.
Withhold their donuts and watch them get nasty Conversely if you were to GIVE them donuts, they should be grateful ! New use for Donut Semi-Rare - When given to a Guard, he will March about proudly dispensing justice within 16 tiles of his post for 4 hours.. after which when the sugar high wears off, the takes a nap for the remainder of the UO day and criminal activity goes unnoticed in his patrol area
