I've seen several Sosarians having trouble with thieves lately. Given the rampant increase in stealing, it seems that Sosarians are not doing their own due diligence in protecting themselves. Sure, thieves are terrible scoundrels, but they are only able to be terrible scoundrels if less-than-wary Sosarians "enable" them. I see a LOT of people getting angry at Thieves for stealing their items, but I see a FEW people actually doing anything about it beyond complaining. Educate yourselves people...If you don't know the answers...Search the Forums...if that fails...ask someone! That having been said, here's a few pointers: Find a trusted Carpenter and have them make you a Lockable Wooden Box. Go to the Mage Shop and buy a Magic Lock Scroll. Get your Items Ready. Put them in your Wooden Box and cast Magic Lock. Note: The maximum weight that a thief can steal is 10 stones. Make sure your box weights at least 11 stones. Stop worrying about the thieves Stealing your Platinum and Reagents. A thief trying to use Lockpicking on your Wooden Box..........NOPE! A thief trying to Magic Unlock your Wooden Box..........NOPE! A thief trying to Steal your Wooden Box..........NOPE! ( Make sure its heavy enough...usually just putting your reagent bag in there will do the trick. ) When you get new shinies, drop them in your Wooden Box. Some people even run macros that loop constantly to automatically do this for them. You can use reagents out of these boxes. Other items....well....you can't be 100% protected. This is Felucca afterall. Your potions and weapons are not useable from within a locked Wooden Box. Anywho, this is perhaps the simplest way to Protect your belongings and it will cost you hardly anything. Being lazy and not doing it....will cost you infinitely more. Stop being lazy... Seriously.
This is very good advice. I've been doing this ever since Jack o' Shadderrs dry stole me... empty bags an' all! Ain't had nothin' of value stole since I began using the lock box system. One other tip -- If a thief snoops your box before you get it locked you'll need to pick it up and drop it back into your bag to make sure he can't steal from it.
I walk around with lots of robes in my bag as well. Oh, I like putting magic trap on my pouches and boxes.
