Did a search and found a post from last year september when someone was asking about guild button being functional and showing in-game guild members. Is there anything planned for this? IRC is one of the game killers when everyone just chats from there, having the guild button to see who is in would be useful and draw people in the game, rather than look at IRC channels to see who may be on.
I'm not positive but I believe the Guild button functionality will be integrated into the Guild Stone revamp that has been in the works for a long time. Some of the other features will be guild alliances, member/administrative delegation, ability to allow members to join factions or O/C without needing the whole guild involved, etc.

Telamon has already done a great amount of work on the guild system and this would revolve around using the guild button. I believe the only reason he has not implemented this is because it would mean doing away with guildstones altogether - and guilds would become a less physical, button on your paperdoll, thing. So some of us that prefer a more classic version of renaissance would miss the guildstone. I believe he has this all ready to roll out with a fair amount of new convenient features - and has just put it on hold until he decides whether getting rid of guildstones is worth it.
I have been waiting for this feature ever since I started on this shard... I will be downright giddy when it rolls out. Especially now with a big influx of new players and a growing RP community this is imperative. It will make running guilds much more efficient and easy. Pleeease let it be in the next update, Telemon!!!
Same here. 1096 days and counting, to be precise. Ultimately all I ever wanted was guild alliances so I could align anti-PK guilds so whenever someone needed to call for help, they could call on any allied guild member with one statement, without going to IRC.
If nostalgia for guildstones is holding this back, couldn't they just be changed to something a guild can buy and install purely for cosmetic reasons?
