I'm looking for craftspeople specializing in wearables. I've had a particularly hard time finding active smiths, for example. 'Hiring,' while succinct, may not be the best term because the workload is likely to ebb and flow. Basically, I'm putting together a boutique (certainly not 'The Fugitive Boutique' -- never heard of it *clears throat*) of premade outfits that incorporate NPC cloth, weapons and armor. My hope is to help young players along with them by using them as rewards for quests. Just some nice, practical rewards that are actually pretty unique (given the inconsistency that's inherent to farming NPC cloth). The quests are as-of-yet unwritten but would ideally promote player-driven events from players and roleplayers alike. The 'rewards' I'm hoping to purchase are one part of that -- suits of armor being the big thing. Maybe some guilds do this sort of thing in-house already -- I don't know -- but I think there's a lot of power in diverse groups coming together to do 'the thing' rather than 'the thing' falling under a single banner. I'd like to forge something of a relationship in which you, the craftsperson, make a variety of wearable stuff, and I pay for or trade for those items on the regular. It probably won't be a terribly 'profitable' thing as compared to, say, oh -- I don't know, farming AMIBs or whatever, but engaging new/young players strengthens the commmunity as a whole. It's worth its weight 'in gold.' *winks*
Hit me up in irc. All ways looking to help out new players. I have all the crafters to suit your needs.
I've got a crafter fully-qualified in all the relevant fields. Let me know how she can be of service!
Wooaaahh this is great! So great that I'm not sure whether I can afford it! I'm at work right now but I'll be in touch with y'all! Also -- on the story end of things, I could use help! Roleplayers, hit me up!
I bought an outfit from Imbol. Custom design, adjusted to suit my tastes a little more during a "fitting". Overall a great experience, well worth the time and gold.
I don't have a picture of Jimmy's outfit, but here's what I'm wearing now, anyway. I had a nice, light blue ostard but it died on me.
Okay, y'all. First, thanks to those of you who have stepped forward, expressed interest, and/or have read this and support it. Now, I have a big ask. Rather, another big ask. (grits teeth) I would do this myself, but quite a lot of my time lately is consumed by representing my fellow workers through a labor dispute in my workplace. So, not a lot of time to dedicate here until things settle down. Ah, the irony of unpaid stewarding! Anyway, I need... (takes a deep breath) help assembling a rough idea of prices... (adopts an egress position) for every suit of armor by material/class... (winces; braces for impact; waves a white flag) Any help/direction would be very appreciated. It seems like some suits of armor are simply not sold. For instance, I rarely seem to find studded leather or ringmail, esp. w/ special materials (colored ingots, barbed leather, etc.). Update: I've found Dalavar's very useful and comprehensive guide, but the prices don't seem to line up with what I've found during my time here. It's also *not quite* the data that I'm looking for.
In general, price = cost of materials / % success / % exceptional + C Where C is the crafter's cost for their time. Of course, there's a lot of variability in that but I think 500-1000 gold per 6pc set of armor is not unreasonable.
Dalavar's guide always helped me get a feel for pricing... but things obviously change in marketplaces... capitalism etc. http://uorforum.com/threads/uor-price-guide.6888/#post-53876 (I used to be a Union Rep myself, man. Thanks & good luck in the fight) ---EDIT--- i just read YOUR edit... boy do i feel like a heel
Solidarity!! Our workplace is embroiled in mgmt overreach. HIPAA violations, intimidation, etc. But we have some smoking guns in writing. I suspect I'll get fired (typical steward -- going and getting themselves fired just when ya need them ), but standing up for workers' rights is worth it. Anyway, no worries about the edit! I tend to edit all of my posts; I'm just like, "Oh, yeah, I forgot..." Tends to confuse some; sorry if you replied to the 'before' version! I appreciate you looking into it. Thanks for taking that time.
I have some fairly large amounts of BOD cloth. I would be wiling to donate some to you to help with this project. Hit me up on IRC `Gzus
Sorry for the horribly late reply on this! So, as I said, a great experience and well worth the gold paid. Here for your viewing pleasure are a few shots of Jimmy's new outfit(s). First up is Jimmy's regular day to day get up, alongside the outfit + extras package I purchased from Imbol. I was after something a bit flashier, a bit more formal, for nights out on the town! These next two are my favourite combinations and are a good reflection of how Imbol presented the outfit package to me after some style tweaks. Here is a combination for a more relaxed day around the home. Last; it should be noted that the outfit package with extras, included a full set of GM Leather in the Shadow colour. You can see it in a few shots, which means a lot of combinations are combat/stealth ready! (very important in my line of work!) Thanks again @Imbol !
Here's a bump! I had a craftsperson lined up, but their computer got fried. So, the hunt goes on! Anyone out there interested in filling a player-based bulk order deed? Edit: damn! No 'spoiler' tags, huh? I'd like to hide that list. The stuff does not need maker's mark. Exceptional preferred but not necessary. I have like 40k or so on-hand to spend at the moment. What can ya make for 40k? I also have platinum. Here's the list: A. Leather Armor Set (+ women's) A1. Spined (+ women's) A2. Horned (+ women's) A3. Barbed (+ women's) B.
